A seaside playground with a lobster bake pebble beach, sea glass collecting, fishing, tidal pools, great climbing for kids on the rocks, a lawn for croquet/volley ball, adjacent to 80 acres preserve with trails, Fort Williams Park & walk to surf break. If you are 5 or 55, The Tides Edge Cottage brings out the Tom Sawyer in everyone. Watch ships enter the channel to Portland with dramatic sunrises and the view of three light houses. 10 minutes to Portland.

Need more space? Adjacent property available.: Potential available house next door for expanded space. We own the adjacent house which sleeps 9, and a 1 bedroom apartment. Why Linda Strunk chose Cape Elizabeth

When the Cottage went up for sale next door to our own home, we hated to see such a classic Maine sea cottage get torn down by a new buyer. The property was an amazing 4 acre private parcel on the coast with a unique history. Our ultimate vision is to sell our current house, preserve at least 50% of the existing cottage structure, and renovate 'the Old Lady'. She has survived 100 years of storms, seas and the elements - we can't help but believe she wants to live for another 100. Tides Edge is a special place and we have loved raising our family here.

What a great place!

We rented this grand old lady of a summer house so that our friends would have a place to gather, eat, and play on the weekend of our wedding. It was perfect in almost every way. Very well outfitted, but rustic. We hosted a big birthday lobster dinner, viewing of hockey playoffs, and a post-wedding bonfire. The beds were super comfy with so many cover that once inside them, you could nearly forget that when it was 40 degrees outside, it was 40 degrees inside. The sunrise on the last day was spectacular....we would rent again in a minute!

Rustic and Charming

I stayed here for a week with a large group of extended family and overall it was a wonderful experience. This home is a throwback to the much simpler family vacations I remember as a child. There is nothing luxurious about the home - no TV or internet and cell phone service only if you walk up the driveway - but it was charming. The kitchen was stocked with the basics and there was a washer and dryer that was handy. The kids enjoyed hunting for shells and sea glass down at the cove and the rope swing on the tree in front yard was a huge hit. Definitely bring games, books and activities, and in case of bad weather, bring warm clothes. Not recommended for families with little children because of treacherous stairs indoors and out.

Absolutely Fabulous - It made my wedding day!

My new husband and I just got home from our wedding weekend at Tide's Edge. We live in the area, but had many of our out of town guests stay with us at Tide's Edge. We already miss the cottage. It was very lovely, Linda has done a wonderful job making the house well-appointed and cozy at the same time. The fireplace in the living room soon became a focal point for our guests. The bedrooms are all spacious and comfortable, and there are gorgeous built-ins through-out. Linda and her family are great to work with. It was perfect for a reunion! (Next time, we are already planning our Lobster Bake!)
