Come stay at The Takoda House! Takoda is a Washoe Indian word for 'friend to all'! And everyone and their friends will enjoy this spacious 4 bedroom, 2 bath with gourmet kitchen and a separate in-laws quarters (please note that the in-laws qtrs is an additional fee--please inquire for additional rates) that sleeps 4 and has its own bath and kitchen. Every amenity you can think of has been added to the cabin--there is lots of room for hanging out, reading, playing games or doing puzzles. The cabin is perfect for a fun get-away, company retreat, winter or summer vacation, or a family reunion. The Takoda House is close to the PDQ market, Sugar Pine State Park, Squaw Valley ski resort, Alpine Ski Resort, and is just 5 minutes from Homewood Ski Resort.

Beds in Main Cabin: Room 1 = 1 queen bed, Room 2 = 2 sets of bunk beds (or 4 twin beds), Room 3 = 1 queen bed, Room 4 = 1 bunk bed with 1 twin on top and 1 double bed on bottom. There is private beach access and a park a block away!

Family Friendly Cabin - Great amenities and location!!!!!

What a great place to stay!! We had a great fathers day weekend at the Takoda House. 5 families shared the cabin and every day we found more toys, doll houses, games and videos to entertain the kids

We were so surprised and happy with how kid friendly the cabin was. It had everything we needed including tons of bedding, tables, air matresses and more. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful.

We also enjoyed the beach at Meeks Bay every day - less than 5 minutes away

We are already planning another trup to the West Shore
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

This house on Lake Tahoe's quieter West Shore is great for families. Close to several good beaches and historic sites as well as good access to shopping in Tahoe City. The owner is very responsive to inquiries.

Feels like home!

What a cool cabin. My whole family vacationed at the Takoda House and we all loved it. Here were some of the highlights for us:
~ TRULY kid friendly. A crib, a baby gate, toys, games, sleds, movies... It was everything a parent could hope for.
~ The in-law cabin was a great "secluded" option for the young couple in our group. It was like they had their own fully-equipped cabin.
~ Fantastic master bedroom ! The upstairs is quite soundproof as well. Our crying baby didn't disturb the downstairs sleepers.
~ The cabin owners are a pleasure to deal with. They really went out of their way to accommodate our needs.
~ The kitchen rocked -- spacious and plenty of appliances, etc.
We would definitely stay in Takoda House again. :)

Well maintained, spacious. Well thought out and equiped with everything you could need. Owner was very thoughtful, called to make sure everything was all right, water on, heat, comfortable, etc.

We enjoyed our stay and will use it again.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
