Or choose to ski at Silverton Mountain or Wolf Creek, both about an hour away.The narrow-gauge train to Silverton, Trimble Hot Springs Spa, Mesa Verde Indian Ruins, live melodrama, cowboy dinner show, rodeo and numerous music festivals are just a few of the favorites in Durango. Other Rocky Mountain activitires nearby include fishing, jeeping, golfing, river rafting, horse-back riding, cycling, mountain biking, hiking & hunting. Two lovely high-country lakes are within 10 minutes from the home and the Animas River runs through the glacial-carved valley where we are located, great for world-class fishing, along with numerous high-country streams.
