This very private lakefront home sits on spectacular Lake Wheeler, in Rogersville, Alabama. Surrounded by an acre of land in a rural setting, each room is decorated in Caribbean Casual to make you feel like you are in your own private island resort. This home boasts cathedral ceilings with large windows offering an uninterrupted view of the Lake. The master and guest bedrooms feature French Doors that open onto the large patio where you can enjoy your morning coffee or an afternoon chat while rocking in an old fashioned rocking chair. Lake Wheeler is one of the USA's premiere fishing lakes and host to many national fishing tournaments. Fish off the dock, relax with your favorite cold beverage on the large boat house deck, or just float on the water. Boat and Jet Ski rentals are available at nearby Joe Wheeler or Bay Hill Marinas. If you are a golfer, the Robert Trent Golf Course Trail is also minutes away. If you want a place to get away from it all, this is the place. Just relax!

Bama House is situated in the heart of the Tennessee Valley, easily accessible via I-65. Huntsville, rated one best places to live in the US, is 45 mins. away. While at Bama House, take time to visit the US Space & Rocket Center, Space Camp and/or Aviation Challenge in Huntsville. Country music lovers listen up; Nashville and all its amenities are two hours away. Talladega race fans are two hours away from NASCAR excitement. Historic Florence is 18-miles away featuring University of Northern Alabama, a Frank Lloyd Wright home, first class restaurants, horse-drawn carriage rides, great shopping, etc. Helen Keller's childhood home is also nearby in Mussel Shoals, as is the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Additional information about rental rates

  • 2 night min. Weekend Rate Covers Friday (night), Saturday (night).
  • Please call for rental rates during Talladega Race Weekends. Absolutely no smoking permitted. No pets. Must be at least 25 years of age to rent (proof of age will be required). Minimum 2 night stay. One week rental is 7 days (Sat-Sat). Check in time is 3 pm. Check out time is 11 am. Holiday rates may vary. Liability waiver is required to be on file. Monthly rate available, contact owner for details.
  • $550 deposit is required to secure your reservation. This deposit does not apply to rent and converts to a damage deposit upon arrival. The $550 deposit--less a $150 cleaning fee--will be returned within 2 weeks of departure provided there is no damage to the home. The full rental amount is due 2 weeks prior to arrival date. Personal checks accepted, no credit cards. Sixty day cancellation notice is required in writing (via fax). If less than 60 days notice is given, the $550 deposit will be held for lost rent, unless the home is re-booked for the same rental period. No refunds for early departure or inclement weather.

In addition to the three bedrooms, the couch in the living room is a fold out sleep sofa and can sleep two.

Notes: Bama House, as this home is known, sits on a flat lot with a totally unobstructed view of Lake Wheeler and portions of the Elk River. The lake is 30 feet deep at the doors of the boat house. Relax in the rocking chairs around the fire pit in the evening and gaze at the brilliance of the stars or sit on the built in benches on the deck of the boat house and watch the schools of fish skirt by. The house is fully updated and lovingly furnished offering all the comforts of home. The nature of this home is cheerful, bright and demands that you kick off your shoes and relax. It offers a rural setting however all the amenities you could want are a short drive away.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this quiet and secluded property. It was bright, airy, sunny and has a wonderful view of the lake. The dock stretches into the water which is warm, clear and deep. Jumping off the boat house deck (which is 12 feet high) into the water was lots of fun. Evenings were spent around the fire pit making smores and gazing at the stars. Even though there was a TV, our kids spent evenings with us out on the patio. We and our children enjoyed our stay there and were disappointed when we had to leave. We look forward to returning soon.
