This newly remodeled three bedroom/two and a half bath penthouse is a wonderful Caribbean vacation rental. It can be a romantic private place for a couple or a comfortable place for a large family reunion. With a panoramic 270 degree view from the western side of the island, you can view the nightlights of Marigot, the Dutch and French oceans and the departing cruise ships. With 1600 sq. ft. it offers plenty of room for 6-8 people. The penthouse is 5 minutes from the airport. It is steps away from Ocean Club’s Beach and a minute away from Cupecoy Beach. The French side is a mile away and it is a short distance further to Marigot. A small market, casino, restaurants and Mullet Bay are within walking distance. This has been our favorite place to stay on the island. The view is great, it is quiet and child friendly. The traffic is also easy on this end of the island and it is a quick trip to Marigot for dinner or to the nightlife of Maho.

Comments from the Owners: Cupecoy Beach is absolutely our favorite part of the island. Quiet and peaceful but close enough to get to the action. We bought this penthouse because we not only can look at the ocean on the Dutch and French sides during the day, but the island at night. The ocean view at night is just black—the island side has beautiful lights. The lights of Marigot are lovely and makes the patio very romantic.

What a dump!1

We stayed here last January, 2008 and I am sorry it has taken me this long to write a review. The floor was so dirty we had to wear our flip flops the entire time or our feet were black. The view was of construction and the view of the ocean was behind you!! It was very noisy. There was no pressure in the main shower or washing machine. AND there was no beach, just rusty old chairs!! We complained as soon as we could as the internet never seemed to work. The owner was of no help. would never rent at Ocean Clubs or from her again!! There was 6 of us and we all agreed it was terrible.
Owner's Response: I am sorry for this unfortunate review. I am also surprised that this review was made a year after they were there. I feel sorry that they are still angry. The staff and I found this group very hard to please. The maid service went up and cleaned the floor twice, but we suspected that they were not using the outdoor shower after being at the beach and allowing the sand to fall on the floor. The beach at Ocean Club is a private beach so there are no services (chairs or food) and as all beaches in St. Maarten the shape and size varies from week to week--but there was a beach. St. Maarten is in some ways a primitive island and a year ago, the internet service was spotty but is greatly improved throughout the island now. Caribserve is doing a much better job.
As far as the construction goes, Porto Cupecoy, a development of Orient Express and the Blue Mall are being built across the street on the lagoon side. We are happy for this development because they are planning to put in a Gourmet Marche and other retail services so you will not have to travel far to get what you want. Cupecoy has always been very remote from the rest of St. Maarten. I have taken this into account in discounting the fees for the 2008 and 2009 year. But for those of you who know this island--things move very slowly down here. One of the reasons we love it here.
I would like to say that if you look at the number of reservations we have for 2008 and 2009 you will see that this is a popular villa. We have 5 families who have come more than once and we rarely have a complaint that we have not been able to remedy. The staff at Ocean Club has always tried to be helpful.
