Overview

San Giovanni - Esquilino Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-5)

Enjoy an apartment with amenities that are almost impossible to find in Rome.. I would describe my apartment as quiet, comfortable, with every luxury. Staying there you will feel as if you are actually living in Rome and are part of it all. The location is another factor. It is so easy to get around with every type of public transport at your doorstep. It is multi- ethnic and becoming a cool place to live.

Located on the east side, downtown, it is a large 1800 sq ft.,Two Bedroom (sleeps five, (one queen-sized bed in the Master bedroom and one double bed in the second bedroom, one Rollaway Bed if needed), Two Full baths,(two showers, one tub an one with a marble seat in the shower.). Located on the Italian 3rd floor, but is truly an American 4th, Elevator, Quiet, faces the Courtyard, for rent minium of three nights, weekly or longer.

The building was built 1894. The apartment has been completely Renovated and Designer furnished---some Vintage mixed with Modern. There are hardwood floors throughout. Huge windows from once upon a time, and the original wood shutters that open to the courtyard, add to the charm. You may even see some Roman laundry hanging out to dry.

When you arrive you will find the refrigerator supplied with breakfast items to get you started.

You will be met by Martina, a young lady that will explain everything in the apartment to you and be a phone call away if you need anything.

Amenities include a large Chef's Kitchen, Miele Dishwasher, Miele Washer and Dryer, Large Refrigerator, a Six Burner Gas Stove, Oversized Electric Oven, Microwave, Toaster, Blender, Juicer, Utensils, High end Dishes, Stemware, Pots n Pans. Beautiful Linens are included. All appliances are new.

There are two hair dryers, alarm clocks, towels.

The apartment is fully Air Conditioned and Heated, all self controlled, as well as an Unlimited Supply of Hot Water.

There is Flatscreen TV, a Stereo, DVD, Desktop Computer with Broadband, WiFi, a Printer, Photo Printer, Photocopy Machine. A reference library on Italy is available in the apt. Music library, films mostly in Italian, Satellite TV, to watch BBC. There are two hair dryers.

Esquilino, is on the eastern side of the downtown area, (all of downtown and the major attractions are contained in a 2 mile radius),near the intercontinental train station Termini. The neighborhood is SAFE and very fun. Certainly the best location in the city for getting around on foot and to feel the real Rome. The Coloseum is a 10 minute walk, and if you are a walker, you may walk to all the sites.

The train to the airport or a fast train to Florence or Naples for for a day trip, is two blocks away. A Five Star gym, an elegant shopping mall,a supermarket, moblile phone store may all be found in the Train Station. A day of Swimming can be enjoyed at a Five Star Hotel located on the corner,(not included in rental price). The best Farmer's Market in Rome, where the Chef's go to shop, is one block.

Sitting in the cafes although, is the best activity.....people watching in Rome is worth the trip.

The location of the rental is near the corner of Via Principe Amedeo and Via Mamiami.

All rates quoted reflect an occupancy of four people. If a fifth, wishes to stay a 50 euro additional cost will be applied to the daily rate. OTHER THAN THAT, THERE ARE NO ADDITIONAL COSTS.

What a find! The apartment is so beautiful and fully equipped! We needed to find an apartment on short notice and were thrilled this was available. Assunta met us at the door and provided a great overview. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Loved this apartment!

  • 5 of 5

Four of us stayed in this apartment for 4 days over New Year's Eve and had a wonderful stay. The apartment is large, and the photos are accurate. Everything we needed was there, and we appreciated the bread/eggs/jam/butter etc.! We loved being close to the large food market and enjoyed having morning coffee at the small coffee shop in the courtyard in the next block. Termini train station was 5 minutes away with all the services, and there were lots of restaurants just a few minutes walk away. We walked to the Coliseum on New Year's Eve and loved the fireworks and the novelty of an Italian New Year's Eve. We would definitely return to this apartment next time we are in Rome. Thanks Mary!

WOW! Great apartment/condo!

  • 5 of 5

The owner, Mary, was excellent to deal with! Everything is just as listed, and the photos don't even do it justice!

We stayed one week in late Oct. with another couple. We chose this one because of the ample size, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, plus the washer and dryer!

The apartment is very roomy and everything worked well. We did have trouble with the keys, but always managed to wiggle them and get them to work. Just to the outside doors. Water pressure isn't good, but we managed.

The location was good, just a couple of blocks from Termini train/bus station. Grocery store was close enough, and plenty of good restaurants within walking distance.

We were met upon arrival, even though it was getting late, probably near 10 pm.

The beds were very comfy! The place was very clean!

Highly recommend! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Thanks Mary!

My stay in Roma

  • 4 of 5

Our trip to Italy included 4 days in Rome. I chose this apartment because it was modern, had two full baths, bedrooms and was close to the train station.

The owner Mary was helpful throughout the booking procedure. She had someone on site we could call, which we did, and someone who met us on our arrival. We did the walk through on arrival and the apartment was exactly as Mary had described.

Mary provided a large binder that gave directions to all the appliances. However most were written in Italian, which none of us spoke. So, we called on the gal who lives in the building and she was there in a jiffy and helped us get acquainted with how things worked. But not just in the apartment, but in general on how to get around.

The area around the apartment is a bit off the beaten path, and in a vary diverse neighborhood. We needed three keys to access the apartment. Sometimes the keys wouldn't work on the two outside doors, but if we waited a few moments someone would be coming or going from the building and we would be on our way up the elevator to the apartment.

We could walk 3 or 4 blocks to get to restaurants. Using her binder, we ate our best meals in Italy. We dropped her name at La Vecchia Conca and got a great table and super service. At Tempio Di Mecenate it felt we were eating a true Italian meal. Unhurried, well lit and crowded.

The binder informed us of a place to grocery shop-a "super food market". We didn't understand that the 'food' store was on the next block past the clothing merchant building. I did however, discover it on our last morning there. They had all types of veggies, fruit, meats, breads, cheeses and sea food. Live crabs were escaping the boxes and octopus was hanging out of their crates. I could have spent hours just watching people shop for their daily meals, the vendors selling their goods from the stalls and selecting just the right ingredients for a fabulous meal. Next time!

I would go back and use this as a base for Roma. You can walk to the Metro, grab a bus or get on a train to go anywhere in Italy. Just watch your pockets and bags when you board the Metro. I spied a young lad just reaching his tiny fingers in to my husbands pants pocket as we boarded. I alerted my husband who turned to me and the boy withdrew his hand and moved on.

We used the computer for our e-mails and the printer was available to get our boarding passes. I recommend this place as a good home base for all you'd like to do in Roma. Thanks Mary!

Vacation in Italy

  • 5 of 5

This was our first stop in a 3 week vacation in Italy. My wife and I were in Rome 6 years ago and this time our neighbors went with us. The apartment is just as the pictures show. Very well decorated and the kitchen is awesome. Mary happened to be in Rome and greeted us at the apartment. She is very gracious and accommodating. The location is excellent. Near termini so getting around Rome was easy. Also we walked about 10 miles a day. It was nice to come back to a quiet apartment after site seeing and eating our way through Rome each day. The one bathroom is rather small and water pressure can be an issue, but that's true throughout Rome. I highly recommend Mary's apartment.

Rome vacation apartment

  • 4 of 5

This is a very nice comfortable apartment and Mary, the owner, is very accommodating and helpful. Even though we were delayed arriving, there was someone there waiting for us and showed us how everything worked. Having air conditioning in August is also a very welcomed amenity. Mary was also great in getting a minor issue resolved very quickly. The apartment is fairly centrally located. You have access to public transportation making all the sights of Rome easily reached.
