About The Owner

After living 30 years in Atlanta, with my last profession as a graphic artist, it was time to get off of the busy Atlanta roads and 'smell the roses' or more appropriately 'smell the salt air'... I was so fortunate to find Pelican Watch and purchase it as a rental, which gave me the ability to have somewhere to go when the I needed the escape, but Pelican Watch became so popular, it was hard to find a week or two for myself and family! The blessing came as an ability to actually move to the area and live in paradise. I get such pleasure from offering my beach home to the wonderful guests that grace Pelican Watch, that I decided to keep Pelican Watch as a vacation rental and find my own home right here on 30-A.

Why The Owner chose Seagrove Beach

When the possibility for early retirement became evident, I searched most of the United States coastlines for the perfect spot for me to retire... This area had been a favorite vacation spot for my family for years and after researching alternate vacation areas... I knew that there was none other than the 30-A area! Pelican Watch beat out dozens of other possibilities due to its position between Eastern Lake and the Gulf. The charm of Seagrove Beach was the topping on the cake.

What makes this house unique

There is something very spiritual about Pelican Watch and its location. Very hard to explain, but I've had many quests say the same thing. Just looking out on the sugary sand and turquoise water brings a peace within. The huge porches capture the breezy balmy winds and are the perfect gathering area for family and friends. For those who like more adventure, Pelican Watch offers about 7 bicycles, 2 kayaks and a canoe... along with beach toys galore. The 19 mile biking trail runs the entire length of 30-A... great for discovering the incomparable beauty of the area, its wildlife and many spots for dining and shopping along the way. Catch a free concert in the green space at Seaside, Rosemary Beach and other activites offered by the townships along the beach.

There is something for everyone of every age... you will want to return year after year.

Girls weekend at Pelican Watch

Pelican Watch was perfect for a reunion of six female friends, assorted ages, from Alabama, Colorado, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Its location adjacent to both the lake and the gulf is ideal. Temps were a bit chilly for using the kayak and canoe, but the bicycles were great to have on hand. The kitchen was nicely equipped, and like everything, topnotch. We especially enjoyed the spacious deck. I've vacationed at Pelican Watch for family gatherings in the past, and it is a favorite spot on C-30A.

Pelican Watch is the most perfect house in the most perfect location for the most perfect beach vacation. We loved our stay with 5 adults and 3 children. It was so nice to find the a complete kitchen with everything a cook would need except a cast iron skillet. I will be sure to bring it next year. We did not eat out at all, for Publix was just down the road for shopping and my son and I did all the cooking. The lake was a wonderful spot for the baby because the water was so calm. The view of the gulf and beach from the second floor and third floor porches was amazing. I even saw dolphins swimming from the 3rd floor porch. We love Pelican Watch and plan to return next year and the next. Diane is a wonderful owner and will help you if there are any problems. Thank you, Diane, for allowing us to use your awesome house.

Beach Delight

This is our third year at Pelican Watch, and it is always a delight. The house has lots of room inside and outside. Everyone can come together for dinner or games or find a quiet nook on one of the decks to read. The beach access is directly across a quiet dead end road with little traffic (except for the ice cream truck) and is never any problem for the kids. The house sits across an empty lot so the beach view is perfect. You can sit on the deck and enjoy the beach view and the wonderful ocean breeze. The house is clean and stocked full of beach chairs, toys, bikes, etc. We don't want for anything, and if we did Diane is always an email or phone call away. I look forward to many more visits to Pelican Watch. Thanks Diane for sharing your beautiful home!!
