HOT TUB , A BOAT and BIKES ARE INCLUDED IN YOUR RENTAL It is the perfect hide away for the nature lover who seeks peace and quiet and who wants to relax and forget all the troubles of this world.

The charming, historical town of Punta Gorda is known for its Art Galleries, Gourmet Restaurants and scenic Parks. Spend some time in Fisherman's Village Marina with its cute shops and Seafood Restaurants overlooking the prestine Charlotte Harbor.

Grocery shops, Medical Facilities, Post Office and other important facilities are just short distance away.

( from here you can reach the Intra coastal and the Gulf of Mexico. ) Fishing is plentiful here ! It's also a Nature- and Bird watchers paradise. This charming country house is located just 10 Minutes east of the historical down town of Punta Gorda. Off Hwy 17 it is in close proximity to shopping, restaurants and medical services, but secluded, peaceful and quiet. From here you can reach the Interstate 75 within Minutes in order to reach the nearest larger towns such as Fort Myers and Sarasota, both about 1/2 hour drive. Go further East on Hwy 17 and you find the charming old town of Arcadia, a paradise for Antique Hunters and Rodeo Lovers. You can fish from your own dock in your backyard, take an eco tour or canoe trip or even bring your own boat, there is a boat ramp within this subdivision. Rental boats are also available near by and you can go on a day boat trip to nearby islands or on a Deep Sea Fishing tour with a tour company out of Fisherman's village. There is dance and live music at times in different places. In short: You and your family can find all sorts of things to do in order to have fun on your vacation.

Notes: The large 'Hot Tub' or AKA 'Jacuzzi' is located in the huge, 40' long screened porch/lanai. Rustic country style brick floor. Perfect for your entertaining pleasures as well as for relaxation to get away from it all. From here you can watch the wild life or enjoy the amazing sunsets the West coast is known for. In front of the house is a little patio with stone table and benches, perfect for your first cup of cafe' because it faces east and allows you to enjoy the first warm Florida sunrays of the day! Let me know, if you bring children, I will provide for little kiddie chairs and sleeping cots ad toys suitable for the age. The entire home is tiled with the exception of one bedroom. There is a single car garage . In the yard you will find a swing facing the romantic Shell Creek and also a table with chairs , . You can enjoy your gourmet grill dinner in the shade of the large oaks.

This was an overall decent stay. Please see list of facts we encountered below:
1. Property was very old inside and out, but plenty of living space and furniture made for a comfortable stay. Loved the two living room feel (has a main LR and master BR has a LR too, w/fireplace). Reminded me of my uncle's cottage when I was a kid.
2. Had plenty of dishes, cups, silverware and cooking utensils including trash bags and laundry soap. Stove,fridge,jacuzzi,TVs,cable TV,washer,dryer,A/C, and charcoal grill all worked well.
3. I booked a week in advance yet landscaping on property was well overgrown, grass not mowed, and I had to duck under the large palm tree to get into the front door.
4. Not familiar with Florida country living, but it seemed the propertly could use better pest control as there was a small bug problem inside the house--both living and dead. The little lizards everywhere (outside) was pretty cool though.
5. Yes, the house is located on a river with a paddle boat, but the river is located right by a dam so the current was too strong to use the paddleboat without adding a small trolling motor or something. And I was also notified by a local resident not to sit in this small of a paddle boat on this area of the river due to alligators.
5. Received good communication from the owner both before our trip and on our day of departure. Very nice individual and seemed willing to help if we ever had a major issue during our stay.
6. Overall this was a decent place to stay that is within a 30-40 min. drive to several beaches on the west coast, so it was a good "landing pad" at the end of each day. I would come again as long as the grounds were kept a little better and the bug problem solved. I realize its not, and didn't expect, a lavish vacation home, but little things can make a difference.

Peaceful, Comfortable and Spacious

We had a very peaceful and quiet stay. We live in South Beach so it was a wonderful change to hear birds chirping, wind rustling the reeds and trees and fish splashing in the river as background noise. The hot tub outside made for relaxing evenings and the large screen porch was a perfect spot for morning coffee. The kitchen had everything you could need except for a wine key and the oven wasn't working. We enjoyed being able to use the bikes and the bbq. Aside from the neighbors on the one side, it was quite private. The house itself was so big there were rooms we didn't even use. Free Wifi and DirectTV were a big plus. You're out in the countryside surrounded by cows and horses, but it's only a 15 minute drive into downtown Punta Gorda. I would recommend thing this rental and we will consider staying here again.
