Saco Vacation Rental house

We had a very relaxing, enjoyable stay at this lovely home. From the moment we pulled into the quaint, clean neighborhood until the minute we left we had nothing but positive experiences. As our stay in Maine occurred in September, we were fortunate to have beautiful weather and enjoyed the outdoors, but the home itself is so spacious and beautifully decorated inside that a few rainy days would have simply meant more “relaxing” in this home away from home. The open floor plan allowed us to enjoy each other’s company while one was making dinner or mixing that evening’s cocktail and the other relaxed by the T.V or at the counter/breakfast bar flipping through the welcome book that the owners put together to help suggest events/restaurants to hit the next day. We loved the little “reading nook” with the day bed tucked in the back of the house that was surrounded by natural light from both sides and filled with comfortable pillows – a great way to escape to that novel that you never have time to get to in your own home. Our daily routine included a morning cup of coffee on the master suite porch where the morning sun took the chill out of the brisk ocean air, then it was to off the beach for a morning walk. The beach is beautiful with miles to walk and plenty of opportunities to snap pictures along the way. While Saco is a beautiful place with plenty to offer, we made time to take day trips to Portland and Freeport to do some additional sightseeing and shopping as they were so easy to get to. At the recommendation of the owners, we stopped at Gritty’s one day for a great “pub” experience. We sat inside but there was seating outside where there was a huge grassed area where kids, couples, and even family pets were running around before dinner – a great family environment. If you love lobster or seafood, there is an abundance of restaurants that fit that need that are reasonably priced. After fun filled days, it was great to come “home” to all the amenities this vacation get-away had to offer. The bedrooms were spacious, comfortable and so tastefully decorated each with their own bathroom and plenty of storage for us “over packers”. This was a vacation to remember and a home you’ll never forget.
