Mom's Place is on the West Fork of the Bitterroot River in SW Montana, some of the best trout fishing in the Rockies. The home was built in 2003. The main house has a master suite, gourmet kitchen, riverrock fireplace, and a great room for dining; the bunkhouse has separate sleeping quarters for up to 14 people. From the riverside porch and hot tub you can enjoy the sounds of the West Fork, watch for elk, moose, eagle, hawk, and osprey, or enjoy views of Boulder Peak. The Selway-Bitteroot Wilderness, the largest Wilderness area in the Lower 48, is accessed at several points just a few miles from the property. Just fifty yards from the home are a few excellent fishing holes, with brown, rainbow, and cutthroat trout in abundance. Seven miles up the road is Painted Rocks State Park, excellent for swimming, boating, and lake fishing. Nearby it is easy to find all of the West's charm - horseback riding, white water rafting, antiquing, art galleries, hiking, mountaineering, and golf.

Southwest Montana is known for beautiful rivers in the midst of spectacular mild mountains. Most people travel ther ot enjoy fantastic trout fishing or rigorous but rewarding hiking and backcountry experiences. In the wintertime, there is excellent cross country and downhill skiing on uncrowded slopes.
