Our Vacation rental house rests on top of a small mountain in Playa Hermosa just South of Jaco. The rental house consists of 1250 square feet. It has two bedrooms and a loft, full kitchen with eating area, living room, and a patio with an outside table and chairs. It is completely furnished and equipped and set on a plateau with a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean, green valley below and a mountain range behind us. Casa Loma Mesa provides our guests with a private environment, tranquility, and security. Be prepared to truly relax. Nap on the hammock or have lunch at the pool-side deck. Watch the toucans in nearby trees or the beautiful macaws fly overhead and keep a watch for the inquisitive monkeys.

There are three roads that lead to CLM. We show 2 road directions on our website www.casalomamesa.com If you are surfing, CLM overlooks the famous Hermosa Beach known for its consistent and excellent waves. We are located just South of Jaco where all your grocery and other shopping can be done. Over a 100 restaurants are available for your convenience. We recommend that you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for more flexibility in visiting the many natural areas and parks within an easy drive of the house, such as the Tarcoles River, Carara Park and spectacular waterfalls. Manuel Antonio Park, a beautiful reserve where you can see monkeys, sloths and iguanas is a scenic 75 minute drive south.

Notes: The porch has 4 leather rockers so you can sit back after a day of exploring and enjoy your ocean view. The 2 bedrooms have air units at an additional charge. This way you can choose if you want air or not and the price does reflect this. Dining room table on the patio porch to enjoy the breeze and view. We arrange to meet our quests in Jaco so they can follow us up to the house for the first time. Rental of a cell pone can be arranged at $3.00 per day with 30 minutes of local calls included. Deposit required. International calls $1.00 per minute.

We had a wonderful time. The owners, Helen and Ernie, were more than helpful. The house is lovely beyond comparison with a great view and all the comforts. The pool is large and everything is clean and well maintained.Great security too, as Helen and Ernie live on the property themselves. We loved being in the mountains and the climb up was never a problem. We much prefer it to the hustle and bustle in town. With a car the beaches and Jaco are within easy reach. We went there every day. We would like to come back next year

Wonderful Vacation

We stayed in the studio apartment at Casa Loma Mesa for a week in February 2009. It had all the amenities necessary, was very clean and Ernie's carpentry along with Helen's decorating made the apartment very comfy. The pool was perfect after a day of sightseeing. The landscaping and views were very nice! Helen and Ernie were GREAT hosts and helped us with maps, directions and gave great advice as far as sights to see, shopping and restaurants. We also enjoyed just visiting with them!

We had a wonderful time at this property and with the owners. From picking us up at the airport to our last morning there they made us feel special.

We would HIGHLY recommend this property. It sits on a mountain with a beautiful view of the ocean and Jaco. The house we stayed in was awesome and homey.

Paradise on Top of the Mountain

At the top of the mountain in Playa Hermosa you will find paradise, although the climb is not for the faint of heart. It is a treacherous drive up the mountain and at the top was a secluded respite with a beautiful view. Helen and Ernie run this place using their resources with ingenuity. The pool is nice, the the place is clean and we were treated with utmost hospitality. If you're seeking adventure and seclusion and willing to rent a jeep, you'll have a fantastic time.
Owner's Response: Ernie & I enjoyed having the 2 women stay with us for a week. UNFORTUNATELY development has crept up to our small mountain and during their visit a section of the road prior to our property was dug up to install new water pipes. Sorry for any inconvenience.

The Best Deal In Town

My husband and I, along with another couple just spent a week at Casa Loma Mesa. WOW, what a wonderful adventure. Our hosts Helen and Ernie were absolutely wonderful. They were there for anything we needed, and we especially appreciated all the advice as to what restaurants were the best, where to shop, etc. They never steered us wrong, not once! The house was beautifully decorated and had every convenience we could possibly have needed. This was our 3rd trip to Costa Rica in the past few years and this was by far our favorite place. The view was amazing; looking down the mountain to the beautiful Pacific Ocean, and the grounds surrounding the house were just as pretty.
We just returned home a few days ago and we're already planning a return trip to CR, and the only place we want to stay is back at Casa Loma Mesa!
Thanks Helen and Ernie for helping to make our stay in CR a wonderful experience and we look forward to seeing you again in the near future
