This wonderful apartment was the perfect place to call home while we stayed in Paris. It looked just as it was described. It was very close to the Metro and the Paris L'Open Tour Bus stop which can take you all around the city to see the sights.
This lovely, clean and well located apartment is in a perfect location to enjoy a stay in Paris. The The apartment is tastefully and comfortably furnished and the modern, well equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking. (But in Paris, why would you?)
Just steps away is the bus to take you to the Notre Dame and St. Germain area. Cross the avenue to take the Metro or glimpse the Eiffel Tower up close and personal. On Wednesday and Saturday mornings the best outdoor market in Paris is a five minute walk away. The all important bakery for your morning baguette is just down the street as is a grocery store. In the apartment you will find maps, guides suggestions will be very handy for your visit. I just hope this apartment is available when next we visit Paris.
My wife and I attended this apartment in late May and stayed two weeks. This apartment was beautifully located and easily accessible to the Metro, Taxis ,Eiffel Tower, Trocardo Gardens, cafes and restaurants. It was ideal. Stephen and Lisette were perfect hosts and answered all our questions prior to attending Paris and checked up on us from England during our stay. They offered advice for excursions and transport to from the airport. It was great knowing they were a phone call away. We cannot say enough about this apartment other then repeating what previous renters have stated. We can state when we return we will be staying at this location.
Just a note to let you know this apartment is still just like in the photos. The landlord and gardienne were both easy to work with. The key was available when I arrived, so no travelling all over to hunt down a manager. The apartment was extrememly quiet and relaxing. Lisette has a small library of Paris travel books and a collection from past tennents of places to eat, sights to visit and maps of the area. The area is a quiet residential area that felt very safe for living in a big city. We were able to walk everywhere. Within a 3 block area are butchers, cheese shops, bakeries, vegetable stands, a large grocery store and wine shops along with several Metro and bus stops. We stayed a week and did not need to grab a taxi once.
We did not have any issue with the stairs, but we have stairs at home, so this was no different. It was nice having a washer so we didn't have to pack a week's worth of clothes. I just can't say enough about how nice this was, and it made our vacation.
My family and I had a wonderful stay in this apartment in July. It is on a quiet street, just 2 blocks away from the Trocadero, which offers the best view of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It had everything that we needed and was very comfortable. The windows open up to the courtyard, not the street, so this results in the apartment being quieter, and cooler (because of the shade in the courtyard). Even on days when we hit 90 in Paris, the apartment was always cool because of the breeze coming in from the courtyard. Lisette was also a pleasure to work with. I felt very comfortable renting her place from afar and she we very helpful while we were there.
Before we went to Paris, I was very torn about in which arrondissement we should stay. After seeing all parts of Paris in a very packed week, I was very happy about our choice. The 16th is more residential (read quiet and non-touristy), but so close to restaurants, markets and attractions. When we come back I will try to get this apartment again.
If you do rent this apartment, be sure to eat at Le Scheffer, it was the best meal I had in Paris. Great atmosphere, friendly owner and staff and and excellent food.
Also, before the trip, my biggest concern was getting my family between the apartment and the airport. I ended a great experience with David Benisty (ask Lisette for contact info). He was polite, on time, and responsive. Were my wife and I there without the children and with less baggage we probably would have taken the Air France bus to the Arc De Triomphe and either walked or taken the metro from there.
I was traveling with my Mother-in-Law for a "girls only holiday"; this apartment was more then we could have asked for! It was beautifully appointed and centrally located! We walked EVERYWHERE and its close location to Trocadero metro and bus stops made getting back a breeze! Lisette and her family were extremely accommodating in answering any questions and made us feel welcome from the first night to the last! Would highly recommend this apartment!!
The Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, Trocadero, River Seine and the Arc de Triomphe are steps away. The area is vibrant and chic. You can stroll through the Bois de Boulogne with its lakes for boating or roller blading and cycling as well as its open air theatre and beautiful rose garden. Shop in the weekly open air markets, restaurants are all around and you can enjoy museums, art galleries, antique shops etc.. This is a very smart and safe area in Paris for a wonderful trip.
