Located approximately 1 mile north of Arcadia, 10 miles south of Frankfort. A true Michigan Log cabin which has been recently updated with a new kitchen and bathroom. This unique cabin is literally steps from crystal blue Lake Michigan and sugar-sand beach. Enjoy unmatched sunsets from either the upper or lower decks and fires on your private beach. This unique section of Lake Michigan shoreline sports surfable waves and unspoiled walks along over 3 miles of preserved, undeveloped beachfront recently purchased from Grand Traverse Land Conservancy. As you relax indoors in the cabin with your full view of the lake, you may also enjoy the cable television and Bose - Wave music system. The lake-view loft has a full-size bed, the lower level bedroom also and there is a full size futon in the great room. The kitchen is equipped with all cooking amenities, all new appliances and coffee maker. Linens are provided as well as gas and charcoal grills. 3 miles from Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course.

Food and Fun: Every little town seems to have a great restaurant or two. A couple of our favorites are: The Blue Slipper in Onekema, and the cafe in Arcadia. The Cabbage Shed in Elberta is our FAVORITE with good food and live bands most nights (Ask for a steak knife for leaving your mark). Frankfort has several great places to eat and see bands plus a bakery you just have to check out. All the little towns have something going on all the time. The Elberta Farmer's Market is great on Thursdays for fresh home grown stuff. Local fruit & vegetable farmers have great produce stands along M-22 and elsewhere. Take the kids to the Sugar Shack outside Benzonia or the Cherry Hut in Beulah and there is an actual drive-in theatre between Beulah and Honor. A fall visit to Old Mission Point's wineries is a great day trip. The area has a lot to offer, check it out!

outdoors: Just plain paradise. Water-sports including unsalted big surf (most days), sugar sand ,squeaky clean beach, nature walks on the preserve lands. Some of the nations most treasured unspoiled locations to seek out. Sunsets to die for.

The Sleeping Bear Dunes are about a half hour north along scenic m-22 if you want a workout and view you will never forget.

other outdoor stuff.: Bring your fly-rod for the Betsie, Platte, Big & Little Manistee, Bear Creek or any of the other nearby trout streams and have a blast. Charter services for the big lake and rivers are available or bring your boat for the inland lakes if you like. Manistee National Forest is open to hunters within a half hour, and May is morel month if you know what to look for.

Located along northwest Michigan's 'Third Coast' Arcadia is a small lakeshore community. The cabin is nestled in a small hamlet of cottages and year round homes north of Arcadia. Footsteps south of 3 miles of preserved lakeshore, yours for the enjoyment. Our 50 ft. sugar sand beach is private and will have few passerbys as you enjoy the stunning views from your lower deck. The area within 45 minutes drive boasts some of the best golf in the nation, such as Arcadia Bluffs 3 miles south, and great lesser courses to warm up on. Casinos and antiquing are near as well as blue ribbon trout streams and National Forests. Excellent restaurants invite for those days when you don't feel like grilling out or cooking, in Arcadia and close by quaint small towns. Traverse City is waiting for unlimited activity if a larger city is a desired destination. Morel hunting and fall color getaways are outstanding with winter skiing and trails to top of the off season. Enjoy!

Golf: In Addition to Arcadia Bluffs, the area is full of courses to play. My brother- in-law bought a house here just to play the area courses.

Ski: Crystal Mountain is a 20 min. drive and Caberfae in about 50 minutes. Excellent sledding at Onekma High School just 10 miles down the road.

Returning for our Spring Break - Yippee

The cottage is starting to feel like OUR little place in Arcadia. This is our fourth year in a row to be fortunate enough to stay here. It is a privilege to usher in the spring air and wildflowers alongside the woods and water of Lake Michigan. Thanks again!

What a wonderful place to get away from it all and enjoy being right on beautiful Lake Michigan! The owner has decorated the place very nicely and has attended to every amenity to ensure a wonderful stay. I was there with my daughter and son in law and we loved it. The sunsets were some of the best I have ever seen. The water and the beach were just perfect too. I would definitely return to this charming cottage.
There is one drawback and that is that the neighbors on the left are right on top of you with virtually no barrier whatsoever. It appears that some new shrubs may correct part of that between the houses when it's grown, but there is nothing planted to separate the two yards which are very close to one another.
It's a great location for any of the nearby cities that you may want to visit. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Perfect Lake Michigan Cottage

This cottage was just perfect! The photos and description are spot-on. The beach was outstanding. The temp dropped from ~90 degrees before we arrived to 55-60 degrees during our stay and it didn't matter :-). We and our children (1.5 & 3yo) still enjoyed the beach, area trails/dunes, town of Manistee, and fires and sunsets. The lot and location are incredible, seeming cozy and secluded (even with the neighbors near). We'll be back!

Up North Fantasy

If you are looking for the perfect "Up North" retreat look no further.
This place has all Northern Michigan ambiance you'll ever need!
Absolutely clean and comfortable, we will be telling our friends about this one.
Fantastically rustic with modern conveniences, my wife and I were able to get away from it all yet remain connected with the outside world via the strong internet connection. (sadly a must for us!)
The beach out front is great for walking plus you are close to many of Michigan's most popular destinations, including Sleeping Bear Dunes.
We will return to this gem in the future!

Prime location, amenities, and accommodations. This place is definitely on my list for a return visit. As stated in other reviews, the pictures cannot provide an idea of how fantastic this place really is. Pride of ownership certainly shows in how well the property is maintained inside and out. The beach is exactly as described in the listing - a perfect place for walking and swimming. Nice views of occasional freighters on the horizon. The blend of a well-preserved original log cabin with modern conveniences was a pleasant surprise. Very comfortable! I would absolutely recommend this place to friends and family. Customer service receives an A+ for the owners.
