Further details for this vacation cottage rental in Arcadia, Michigan

Food and Fun: Every little town seems to have a great restaurant or two. A couple of our favorites are: The Blue Slipper in Onekema, and the cafe in Arcadia. The Cabbage Shed in Elberta is our FAVORITE with good food and live bands most nights (Ask for a steak knife for leaving your mark). Frankfort has several great places to eat and see bands plus a bakery you just have to check out. All the little towns have something going on all the time. The Elberta Farmer's Market is great on Thursdays for fresh home grown stuff. Local fruit & vegetable farmers have great produce stands along M-22 and elsewhere. Take the kids to the Sugar Shack outside Benzonia or the Cherry Hut in Beulah and there is an actual drive-in theatre between Beulah and Honor. A fall visit to Old Mission Point's wineries is a great day trip. The area has a lot to offer, check it out!

outdoors: Just plain paradise. Water-sports including unsalted big surf (most days), sugar sand ,squeaky clean beach, nature walks on the preserve lands. Some of the nations most treasured unspoiled locations to seek out. Sunsets to die for. The Sleeping Bear Dunes are about a half hour north along scenic m-22 if you want a workout and view you will never forget.

other outdoor stuff.: Bring your fly-rod for the Betsie, Platte, Big & Little Manistee, Bear Creek or any of the other nearby trout streams and have a blast. Charter services for the big lake and rivers are available or bring your boat for the inland lakes if you like. Manistee National Forest is open to hunters within a half hour, and May is morel month if you know what to look for.

Ski: Crystal Mountain is a 20 min. drive and Caberfae in about 50 minutes. Excellent sledding at Onekma High School just 10 miles down the road.

Golf: In Addition to Arcadia Bluffs, the area is full of courses to play. My brother- in-law bought a house here just to play the area courses.

The beach is beautiful and the kitchen is all redone just amazing.. we were kind of at a lost for words when we first saw it,it really looked like it was right out of a movie..I would definitely recommend this cottage to all who just want to get away and spend some time in alittle bit of a fairytale :)

Breathtaking

Traci/Scott Grand Rapids, MI
Review Submitted: June 8, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Well, let me start out by quoting the text that I received from my boyfriend when he pulled up to the cottage about 15 minutes before me..."WOW!! OH MY GOSH!! THIS IS GOING TO BE AMAZING!!" I don't know if I could explain it any better myself. This cottage is everything (and more) that the pictures show...it has a cabin feel, with a modern twist...and everything to make you feel like you're right at home. We loved the carvings of names and dates of all of those who had visited before. What a great way to allow everyone to see just how many generations have passed through and left a little bit of themselves behind. Now, lets get on to the view....A...MAAAAA...ZING!! We enjoyed both the upper deck and the lower deck...went rock hunting along the beach, and took our kayaks out almost everyone on the beautiful and peaceful lake. We only left once to go site seeing and out to dinner...the rest of the time we spent enjoying the peace & quiet of our lakefront getaway. Thank you so much to the owners for allowing us to share in your sanctuary. We are truly greatful that we found your cabin online.

The Perfect Getaway

Nancy/Linda Holt, MI
Review Submitted: May 27, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Saw the photos on the website, but they did no justice.....this charming little cabin is out of this world. Why vacation in the tropics when paradise is right here in Mich. Owners have taken great care in maintaining what you can imagine is the cabin's original feel, yet have added some contemporary touches that only add to it's warmth. Cleanest accommodations I can remember...that's only part of the pride exemplified by the owners. Setting is quite private; one cottage away from the natural preserve perfect for long, peaceful walks along the beach -felt as if we were the only ones there. Owners have been wonderful to work with; are prompt in their responses and willing to listen and take into account any special circumstances that may arise. Frankfort is a scenic 10-mi drive away, and Arcadia is right there; you'll find a quaint diner serving the best rueben sandwich. Your best bet, though, is to bring your own food and never leave that cabin! Grill some steaks on the gas or Weber and take in the sunset. Enjoy your morning coffee on one of the 2 decks and just relax....Allowing the public into their cottage must be conflicting for them in some ways, but I want them to know it is truly a gift! Can't say enough, except thanks for sharing!!

Gem on lake Michigan Shores

Meekiella Whitehall,MI 49461
Review Submitted: March 11, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
My Husband & I stayed here for our Valentine's day anniversary. The cottage was located right on the lake. Not one but two decks & tropical looking chairs overlooked the water. Our smiles broaded as we entered this adorable cottage. The front is made completly of glass. We enjoyed our morning coffee with the terrific view. It was extremly well maintained. The attention to detail was evident. We also enjoyed the cabbage shack in the surrounding area. This cottage is absolutly AMAZING! You will not be disappointed!
