Were the Steeles- Gary, Treva, Jordyn & Justin. Three of us are life-long Alaskans. We love Alaska, and look forward to sharing our special piece of Alaska heaven with you.

Treva & Gary purchased this chalet in 2007

The Kenai Peninsula has it all - mountians, rivers, lakes, ocean, glaciers, wildlife -everything you've come to Alaska to see and do. Gary grew-up camping, hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, rafting, canoing, skiing on the Kenai. These chalets were our favorite winter get-away on the Kenai - so we bought them.

There is no comparable property on the Eastern Kenai that we've found. The location is awesomely beautiful- overlooking Trail Lake, surrounded by incredible mountians. And it's all right outside the picture windows. The chalets are constructed to take advantage of the locations, and are well appointed and beautifully decorated. The hot tubs are a bonus, and the privacy means you'll have peace and quiet if you want it.

LAURA

Great place for Alaskans that want a nice get away without tourist interaction. Good location for hiking Johnson pass, carter lakes, lost lake etc. 30minutes to Seward for groceries. Nice tucked away cabin with great view of the lake across the highway. Canoes and kayaks are available to go out on the water. Lots of room and parking, very quiet and cozy especially with the hot tub. Owners are very accommodating and helpful. Will likely be heading back to this location in the future.

Owner's Response: Thanks Laura, Glad you had a good time, and that you found the chalets well situated for all you wanted to do. There IS great hiking in the area, and close proximity to mountains, lakes, river and ocean- the best of Alaska for both visitors and us locals. In the winter there's great terrain for motorized and non- motorized fun in the snow- some of the best on the Peninsula, as well as just relaxing and enjoying the mountain-surround light show each day. We'd be glad to have you back.

WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY

  • 5 of 5
Went down for a girls weekend and the Wild Rose made the experience 100% better. It was nice to be "away from it all." Beautiful views, great location if you want to stay a little bit aways from others, and the accomodations were very clean and inviting. I can't say enough how wonderful Greg was at getting us set up for the list minute trip on such short notice. I highly recommend staying here.

Owner's Response: Thanks Ashley,

Glad you all had a good time. The chalets are a great get-away any time, and especially during Alaskan break-up. April is the little discovered "shoulder" season. It's better in the Pass- clean air, quiet, warming temps, hiking in spruce & hemlock evergreen forests, relaxing in the hot tubs- and beautiful scenery is always just out the windows. Hope you can make it back soon.

RELAXATION AT ITS BEST

  • 5 of 5
We booked the Wild Rose at the last minute for a weekend getaway. We had a fabulous time!! The view is amazing and the owners have really thought of it all (and we used everything they thought of :-)). There is a separate space heater in each room to keep everyone the right temperature through the AK winter, the tv is equipped with the ability to play netflix and huluplus for those who have a login, and the hottub was clean and ready to use. We ice fished amd skiied and wentfor a nice run-all within a 5 mile drive of the place! Moose Pass is an amazingly friendly community as well. In the words of the nice people we met along the way: If you have any questions just find a local and youll find your answer :) Thanks Gary!

Owner's Response: Thanks Elizabeth,
Glad you had a good time. Sounds like you found a bunch of what there is to do in the Pass in the winter- which looks like it's not quite over yet, this year. Come back again soon!

LOVELY RELAXING HOUSE

  • 5 of 5
My family of 4 adults recently stayed at the Wild Rose Chalet. We arrived in the middle of the night, and the local caretaker came over early the next morning to greet us and give us lots of useful information about the house and the area around Seward. He and his wife were warm and friendly, and even gave us some fresh salmon to grill! Yum! The house is very comfortable and clean, and all appliances were very clean and worked well. Although we meant to get out in the canoes, our time ran out before we could do so. It's a nice short walk down the road to Moose Pass for some (limited) shopping. The local food at the restaurant in Moose Pass wasn't very good, so for eating out I suggest driving on down to Seward - there are several decent places there. As to activities - be sure to do a fjord tour - we did the 8 1/2 hour trip on Kenai Fjords Tours, and it was fabulous. Be also sure to check out the marine wildlife center in Seward where you can really see the puffins flying under water. Back to the house - comfy beds, soft towels, great deck, convenient washer and dryer, and serviceable grill on the deck. Great spot!
