Further details for this vacation cabin rental in Stevens Pass, Washington

The Location: Bowman's Riverside Retreat with its spectacular river and mountain views is located in the beautiful Snoqualmie National Forest in Washington State's Cascade Mountain. The cabin is close to endless mountain trails that lead to beautiful vistas, alpine lakes, and waterfalls. Less than 30 minutes away is the summit of Stevens Pass with the famous Pacific Crest Trail and skiing, boarding, and cross country skiing in the winter. This cozy cottage is nestled on the banks of the Skykomish River with its world class rapids for those who like the thrill of river rafting or kayaking. The river also has quiet spots perfect for tubing, swimming, and fishing. Steps away from the backyard firepit is the crystal clear water of the ever-changing Skykomish River. In the spring and fall the river rises and sometimes reaches the backyard. During the summer months the river drops, revealing a beautiful sandy beach that leads to a rocky beach perfect for casting a line, swimming, or rock skipping.

Places to Go: Nearby, in Index, Skykomish, and Baring, are several old style community stores. Der Baring store, located a mile from the cabin, has a great deli, espresso, chili, and often homemade cookies and pies. It is a fun place to eat out and meet the local community members as they stop by for a meal and conversation or to pick up their mail at the post office located in the back of the store. Skykomish, an old railroad town, has a restaurant and a tavern with great chicken and fries. Index, famous for its vertical rock faces, also hosts an art festival each summer. An hour east is the charming Bavarian town of Leavenworth with its many seasonal activities. In the winter the town lights up with its Christmas Tree Lighting Festival. In the summer Leavenworth is famous for its summer musical theater in its three outdoor venues. The city goes all out with its Oktoberfest celebration. An hour west is Seattle with the Space Needle, ferry rides, museums, fine restaurants, and shopping

The cabin: Bowman's Riverside Retreat has been designed and decorated so that our guests have all the comforts of home. The large great room has a cozy wood burning fireplace and new furniture. The dining area comfortably seats six and the gourmet kitchen has everything any chef would need to prepare a delicious meal. The kitchen is equipped with a double oven, dishwasher, refrigerator with an ice-maker, and all the necessary small appliances. There is lots of cookware and new dishes and glassware. The retreat also has comfortable beds, quality linens, and many games and movies for family entertainment. There is also wireless internet for guests who want to use their computers.

Great Weekend Gettaway

Bollocky Bill Redmond, WA - USA
Review Submitted: December 16, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
I stayed here over a long weekend with my young family and a few friends. The scene that met us when walking out onto their private beach was awe inspiring. Gorgeous mountain views, rolling hills, riverside landscapes.......

The weather was fabulous and we never ventured from the cabin or its backyard until we left for home!...

The owners were great and extremely accommodating.. it is true that they own the Cabin next door, however, they don't live their 24/7 and rather than feeling like we were 'being watched' we happily walked on over and got chatting with them and shared fun stories by the beach. We used their private Hammock and Hot tub without any issues.

The cabin is very modern and well fitted, but still with a hint of authentic 'cozy cabin' feel. Just remember to take some Charcoal with you for the outdoor BBQ and really enjoy the views!

Overall this was an Oasis and a much needed break which in reality was only 45 mins or so away from our usual 'rat race'. The owners were great and went out of their way to make us feel at home.

Yes it is in among other cabins in a small community, however, with the amount of land and private beach offered by the waterside this isn't an issue. If you are looking for a 'wilderness' experience then it would be prudent to travel a little further out, if you are looking for a great gettaway with a host of relaxing features then this really is one to try.....

I was reluctant to write a review as i don't really want people to know about it so we can keep it our secret!

Needless to say we are already booking again....

P.s. - my OCD wife says it is very very clean!

Not private

Dissatisfied. Tacoma, WA
Review Submitted: July 7, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
If privacy and solitude is what you seek this isn't for you. Very nicely done cabin with 3 rooms and river access. But it really is in a small housing area. Noise wasn't a problem but the owners live at the cabin next door. The hot tub is in their yard. "Private" is used by others in the area constantly and there are multiple houses across the river. Pictures are deceptive.

Owners will not bother you during your stay and are very friendly. It just has a feeling of big brother watching. Cabin was nicely furnished and was recently remodeled and is updated.

clean and cozy but not private

mountain seeker seattle,wa
Review Submitted: April 8, 2008 Date of Stay: January 2008
The first impression I had looking at the pictures is that it looked private and secluded. I was a little disapointed when arriving that it is in a housing community. The other think if looking for privacy the owner's of the cabin live right next door. Although they never did pop in or anything you just get the feeling that you are being watched over. I was also told there is a sledding hill at the cabin not true at all. The hot tub that they say is inbetween the two houses is right up to the owner's back porche not private at all then the walk back to your rental cabin is pretty cold!
It is however, very clean, cozy and beautiful!
