This very private, new, 2900 square foot, two-story home is located on 150 feet of golden sand like- private beach (no public access nearby). The curving palm lined beach is the most beautiful beach I have seen. In my view---none better.
The house has many high quality features from granite counters, beamed great room, huge master bedroom, solid hickory cabinets, beautiful large mouldings, stainless steel appliances, gas range, plank and tile flooring, to even a wood burning fireplace for a cool night.
There are breathtaking ocean views from large windows in Every room. Rare is the day when you cannot spot turtles from the house and covered lanai which is 20 feet from this gorgeous beach. Here the song of the surf is yours. Watch the sun sink into the sea while relaxing with a drink.
Seven easy stairs to beach .

We stayed at this house for 1 week in July 2007. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The views were fantastic and the house is very spacious. We were particularly impressed by the quality level of the kitchen equipment and furniture. We never felt like we were staying in a rental, felt more like staying in someone's home! One minor drawback is the beach access. We had no difficulties, however the stairs could be challenging for older adults.
We spent here one wonderful week of family vacation in July 2014. The location is probably the best place of the Island, far away from the big "Waikiki beach" which seems concentrating most of the tourists.
The beach in front of the house is almost private, as there is no public access nearby. We spent here relaxing hours, and shared this amazing place with few walkers, longboard surfers and... turtles which were swimming with us in the ocean. During our stay we found the sea very safe without strong waves.
The villa itself is very well equiped, including everything needed for a family with teenagers, for instance all the beach stuff (bodyboard, snorkling sets, towels,...). We loved taking our breakfast on the Lanai in front of the sea and enjoyed many times dinner with BBQ. The main bedroom is huge, and the others quite sufficient. Living room and kitchen are spacious and very nice.
The nights may be a little bit disturbed for light sleepers (trafic on the Highway which is close, noise of the waves also which could be considered by some as relaxing, and the morning light which wakes you up quite early), but this was finally not a big issue.
The location obviously requires a car rental, but the villa is very close to Haleiwa which is a very peacefull and "aloha spirit" village. We found there everything needed such as groceries, restaurants, shops (surf shop in particular) and enjoyed a paddle initiation course.
We spent good time around the Island (north shore roadtrip, visit of Waimea valley and falls, snorkling in Hanauma Bay, and a dream sea excursion where we swam with dolphins and turtles). We only spent few hours in Honolulu and Waikiki beach which was for us not very interesting and over crowded.
Thanks to Jim to allow us to enjoy this wonderful place, just a little bit too far from France to often come back...
Our group of 7 were very pleased with our stay. We walked in the door and my children said WOW!! The home is beautiful with a great location. The home is actually nicer than the pictures show. I was very nervous about renting a house over the internet, I had heard about rental scams....Jim the owner was prompt in responding to my questions and put me at ease, he was timely in returning our deposit as well. We would love to return one day. Thank you for a great time!
I stayed there in 2007, 2014 but the calendar didn't give me that option. I don't know why it has taken me so long to write a review. I was just reminiscing on our vacation with one of my kids and looked this house up again. I am stunned that there are any negative reviews. As a past flight attendant and travel lover I have stayed at many beautiful hotels/homes all over the world. Could there be any more beautiful place to stay than literally on the sand on the North Shore? We were lucky enough to be the very first family to stay at this house. The pillows were still in plastic. The place was spotless. We got permission to stay with our six kids (more than he hoped to have haha) and there was PLENTY of room. The couches in the living room are giant. We went to sleep and woke up to the sound of the surf, saw giant turtles on the beach and watched whales jump from the kitchen and living room. The house is located between Waimea and Haleiwa. Perfect spot to be. I lived in Hawaii for a couple years and am still in love with it. The owner couldn't have been more kind or accommodating. 5 Stars.
What can I say? This vacation property so far exceeded my (and my group's) expectations that I almost have no words. Given that would not work for the purpose of writing a review, I will do my best to come up with some. How about spectacular, awe-inspiring and, as I said in the title, amazing? Yes - those words will do.
The house itself is very spacious - the main floor has an open layout with a wrap-around lanai (balcony) with plenty of chairs & chaise lounges for comfortable lounging in the sun or the shade. The upper floor has bedrooms - and a bathroom - with gorgeous ocean views. The master bedroom is absolutely huge with a small lanai with a couple chairs and little table. My group of 8 could not have been more comfortable.
What can I say about the ocean? It is RIGHT THERE...mere steps away. The house came with many "toys" - snorkeling gear, body boards for riding waves, flippers, etc. The outdoor shower and separate hose makes it very easy to de-sand prior to going into the house. The waves were amazing and lots of fun to play in. We saw turtles swimming quite often and with a quick jaunt down the road, you can see turtles on the beach. (Another quick jaunt will take you to Wiamea Valley where you can hike a little bit - while viewing stunning foliage - to the waterfall...it's a can't miss experience.)
Everything you could possibly need to make your stay as comfortable as home is there - full set of kitchen appliances & dinnerware and a washer & dryer. Pack light - there is no need to bring a bunch of clothes when it is easy to simply run around in swimwear and do the occasional load of laundry. Plenty of bedding & towels, so there is no worries when it comes to linens.
The day before our departure my group starting scheming about how soon we could manage a return. As far as I am concerned there is no other place I would rather stay than in this lovely home.
Thank you, Jim, for offering up such an amazing abode! I (we) cannot wait to come back and visit again....
My daughter-in-law arranged the booking for her family, my wife and me. She made a fine choice. The six of us fitted in nicely (large rooms) and, as advertized, we all had bedrooms with ocean views. The ocean views were great - unobstructed looks at not-too-distant surfers. By going down nine steps from the driveway my grandaughter and I could immediately start building sand castles. The surf is fairly rough, so wading is ok, but anything more is for good swimmers only. (A life-guarded beach is not too far away.) Even though the house is right next to the highway, the sound of the surf drowned out (literally) highway noise, and that was never an issue with us. We had a very enjoyable stay.
