This light, airy, kid-friendly, family home has the charm of a New England summer cottage and is an easy, 4-minute walk to Old Silver Beach. With 4 bedrooms, this Cape-Cod-style, beach house sleeps 8 and is equipped with central A/C, linens & towels, cable HDTV, DVD player, high-speed-wireless Internet, modern kitchen, washer/dryer, dishwasher, and more. If desired, during the day the fourth bedroom may double as a TV Den. The house has 2 bathrooms (with a bathtub in the master bathroom), but most prefer to bathe alfresco in the 'hot & cold' outdoor shower. The rear yard has swings for the children and a gas-grill and spacious deck for parents to relax nearby. The house is set back from a quiet, dead-end street and just a short walk from Old Silver Beach, which is great for children, with soft sand (no rocks), shallow tide pools to explore, toilets, showers, sailboat and paddle boat rentals, and a snack bar (but you can walk home for lunch).

There are five 18-hole PGA golf courses nearby, and our house truly is an easy 4-minute walk to Old Silver Beach. We walk to the beach twice daily with our small children (ages 8, 7, and 4 years), who appreciate having the option of the Snack Bar for a quick treat. Everything you need is within a 10-minute drive, so once you arrive, just settle in and relax. Slip into the charm of Cape Cod with quick visits to small, nearby shoppes for local produce, fresh baked goods, and fresh fish. If you are adventurous, the house is on the Shining Sea Bike Path and close to Woods Hole and the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Old Silver Beach is a fine base for exploring the rest of Cape Cod and just an hour drive to Boston. Consider day-trips to 'Plimoth Plantation' or to Boston for the Museum of Science and Children's Museum. Old Silver Beach is so close to Boston, you can commute to work in an hour while your family enjoys an extended summer vacation.

Notes: Alternate Airports: Rhode Island's T. F. Green International Airport (PVD) and Boston's E. L. Logan International Airport (BOS) are both 70 miles away. Barnstable Municipal Airport (HYA) at 17 miles is an air hub for Cape Cod and the Islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Handicapped Access: There are three steps to the entry doors, each with 28 inches of clear passage. All but one interior doorways allow 27 inches of clear passage. The first floor includes a master bedroom suite and all of the shared living areas. There is a narrow staircase to the second floor bedrooms. This cottage is like staying at a fine bed and breakfast. You can feel pampered with linens and towels provided. The house is newly renovated with new kitchen and barhrooms. The deck is shady and great for family relaxation. Young children will enjoy the pirate ship playground in the back yard. A private beach pass to Old Silver Beach is a plus. The beach is sandy and the water is warmer than most Cape Cod beaches.We will definitely be back in 2009 and would recommend Old Silver Beach and this cottage to any friend or family member.

A Great Place to Stay

My family and I have spent the last 2 summers renting this beautiful Cape home. It is immaculate and cozy! The owners could not be more accomodating and gracious; they want to make your experience enjoyable. Many brochures on the surrounding area attractions are in the house. Old Silver Beach is a terrific place to stay. The beach is within walking distance. My cousins are year round residents and they scouted the home before we rented. I am glad we took their advice. The dining room seats 6 and the kitchen has all the amenities you need to start or end your day. It's a great place to stay.

We stayed here for the past two summers and couldn't have been happier with the house and the location. The house is very comfortable and well-equipped. The deck and backyard were our favorites spots. It was great for family barbecues. We have teenagers and college-aged kids and they enjoyed their stay immensely. It's a short walk to a very nice beach.The town of Falmouth has nice shops and restaurants and easy access to the Vineyard ferry. The owners take a lot of pride in the house and it shows. We highly recommend it!

We have enjoyed two summer vacations at this exceptional property . The kitchen is clean and provides all the amenities to enjoy time and meals, the entire house makes an inviting and comfortable space for the whole family, sleeping and resting areas are very comfortable and relaxing, no preparation required, – just curl up, sink in and enjoy. The location is excellent, just minutes from the beach and other great opportunities for exploration around the Cape and the other islands . We have thoroughly enjoyed our time and are looking forward to returning in 2009

Great vacation spot

this cottage rental was a great vacation spot for my family (myself, husband and three children under the age of 6). the description that was given was very accurate - the home was spotless with a lot of updated amenities. being so close to the beach was key as we were able to get back and forth without the hassle of loading up the car. the owner was extremely helpful as well. it provided us a very relaxing and cozy spot to spend our first vacation at the cape!
