Location: Apartamento Piteres is in the heart of the charming town of ALTEA, just 45 minutes from Alicante airport. Altea is a restful resort with plenty to see and do without the hubbub of some of the busier coastal towns in the region. The town is a holiday haven for the more discerning tourist who will be captivated by its medieval cobbled streets, its picture book old quarter, and the delights of its palm-fringed seafront esplanade.

Altea: Altea has three parts – the new town, the old town, and the esplanade. Apartamento Piteres is in the old town (casco antiguo), approached through cobbled streets flanked by whitewashed houses adorned with bougainvillea. At the summit is the church square – dominated by the church of the Virgen del Consuelo, with its famous blue tiled Moorish domes. All around are arts shops and galleries, together with excellent restaurants and bars. By contrast is the esplanade – not a boisterous affair, but rather a pleasant place to meet and relax – popular with Spanish families dining and chatting. Separating the old part and the seafront is the modern town. This is a busy shopping area with plenty of antique shops. There are also many agreeable cafes where you can watch the world go.

Arts & Entertainment: Historically, Altea is a cultural town – a centre for artists and painters with exhibitions all year in the many galleries as well as the Museo Navarro Ramon and the Casa de Cultura. Situated in the old town is the Palau Altea – an important Arts Centre in the Valencia region. Here you can experience theatre, all types of music, opera, ballet, and of course flamenco. Fiestas happen throughout the year in Altea, often accompanied with brilliant firework displays. The battle of the Christians and Moors fiesta is at the end of September, when the town becomes a riot of musical processions and parades.

Can't speak highly enough of this apartment

We have just returned from a short break at Apartamento Piteres and were delighted with the accommodation.

Before departure we received detailed information and friendly communication from the owner about everything that we needed to know.

On arrival the apartment was spotlessly clean and there was an (unexpected) pack of groceries to get us going.

Everything was exactly as described or better, and the apartment was both well-equipped and well-maintained. It's location two minutes from the Church Square was perfect for us, and the views from the living area and balcony were great.

For some people the absence of UK TV channels on the TV would be a problem, but for us it was a bonus! And there was a cd player, with selection of classical music, and a DVD player with an assortment of films for those who feel the need.

This is a great base for an out of season break exploring the area, or equally in the summer it's proximity to some great beaches would make it family-friendly.

An excellent description followed by an even better experience supported by an informative and helpful owner. Sometimes you have to let people know just how good a place is like this, so here goes. We recommend you come here and I'm sure the owner will give you our details for a longer chat. Perfect location for a more Spanish holiday than the nearby resorts in an apartment that is spacious and well equipped. As we are seasoned travellers who always put our own holidays together, we can tell you that there is nothing to chance here-it does exactly what it says in the information.

My partner and I had a very relaxing week in Altea staying in this apartment. It is centrally located for the old town with its charming square and church and also the esplanade with its bars and restaurants. Ideal for the evening paseo!

The apartment was easy to find and clean and tidy with plenty of towels and linen and all the usual mod cons. The view from the terrace is stunning overlooking the med.

A car is a recommendation, not only to get from Alicante airport but also for site seeing particularly inland to the mountain villages and the lagoons and rice growing region of the Levante south of Valencia.

I certainlt will suggest it to my friends, notwithstanding the strength of the euro!

Beautiful apartment, everything you need for a relaxed holiday. Excellent facilities, kitchen fully equipped, bathrooms spacious and light, comfortable and cool bedrooms, fabulous views from the balcony and only 200 yds from all the bars and restaurants in the Old Town. Very accurate description of the property, and it was very clean and well maintained. Friendly and helpful owner. Couldn't ask for better. Would highly recommend it!

We had a great time and the apartment was beautiful. There’s nothing I can really think of that could improve it, and I was most impressed with your book selection.

You have almost everything in there a person could need. The decor is first class and the apartment is spacious with a cosiness feel about it.
