Further details for this vacation rental in Gloucestershire Cotswolds, United Kingdom

Wildlife and Birdlife: The Estate is very proud of its untouched areas of some significance when it comes to bird and wildlife. Late in 2005 the first European Beavers introduced back into England were released and are hoped to thrive in a far corner of the estate. There will be viewing hides developed so they can be watched. The estate is also home to a wide range of birdlife, from waterfowl to owls. Details of guided walks and the best spots are available from the property or the estate office.

Fishing: There is some excellent fishing on the estate, both coarse fishing and fly fishing. The coarse fishing is specialised and mostly specimen fishing, and the lakes would be classified as 'hard' and not really suitable for beginners. As a tenant you are able to fish (within the estate fishing rules) details of which are available at the house. The fishing is managed by a permenant tenant on the estate, who will be happy to point you in the right direction, and show you the hotspots.

Sally Sinclair and family,.......This cottage is very well equipped. I would recommend this property to friends etc and would go back there myself. One of the main things i liked was the massive king size bed which was so comfortable, many holidays we have had the beds are very old and lumpy.Replys to any inquires i had made before the holiday were dealt with quick response. My grandchilden loved the swimming pool and went swimming in the rain as the pool was warm.Extremely lovely location, easy to get to many other places.

This is a wonderful place and the owners have thought of everything to make it absolutely perfect - a real home from home! From the prompt responses to emails to the cottage itself, we really couldn’t have asked for more. The location is so peaceful and we all had a great time making the very most of the pool and sauna. It was great to be able to sit on the decking in the morning sun for breakfast, and then again in the early evening sun for a glass of something cool. We also enjoyed a walk to the Bakers Arms in Somerford Keynes for an excellent dinner. We definitely hope to return in the near future. Thank you!

this cottage is clean and well provided, ideally located in a quiet area, the only thing we may regret is that there is no place to stand in the sun, although it did shine almost all week through!!

I recommend this cottage as a great place to stay.

We had a fabulous holiday there, and are thinking of returning in the future. It would also be a great holiday for a family as there is a twin childrens bedroom, a single and a luxurious master bedroom with extra large double bed, shower room ensuite and balcony overlooking the thames and wonderful views over a lake. There is a family bathroom with shower off bath taps, and a downstairs toilet in the utitlty room, also housing washing machine and tumble drier. The kitchen has built in fridge freezer, cooker and dishwasher, with a vast supply of utensils and crockery etc., has a breakfast bar and underfloor heating. The dinning area could seat 8 people, and the large comfy corner sofa could easily sleep 2 adults. There is a working log burning fire as centre peice, TV with intrigal DVD and freeview as well as a VCR. The decking outside houses table and chairs and is right next to the Thames seperated only by a hedge, with a garden the other side of the Thames by the lake. The house in only connected by a bedroom upstairs on the other property with the entrances to both properties at the side of each house under the cover of the room above. The heated swimming pool is fantastic to swim in even when it is cold outside and has changing facilities, sun loungers there along with a sauna, tennis courts trampoline and safe play area for the children. Great place to walk, bird watch, cycle without even leaving the estate, but plenty to see outside as well. The shop is very good, stocks the basics as well as home made chutneys jams and sauces etc, you can also order your papers and coissants here for the next day.the shop owner and security guards are very friendly and helpful. Do take a torch if thinking of venturing out at night as it does go pitch black. The Houses in Mill Village are more reminiscent of a country village some houses with thatched roofs, in close proximity. There is one parking space with the property but an overflow carpark by the pool if taking more than one car. There is only one large built in wardrobe on the landing but all beds have drawers and there are hooks on the doors, so plenty of room to store clothes for holiday. There is plenty of information and maps available and books, games, hairdryer etc. If you are looking for a holiday getting out into our beautiful countryside, in a close village location with facilities, this is the holiday for you. We loved everything about our stay relaxing and enjoying nature at its best. 10/10
