Come and relax . . . Wake up to the sights and sounds of waves crashing on the Mendocino Headlands and nearby coves. Large house, beautifully furnished with 50 inch hi-def satellite TV and surround sound, sitting on over an acre of lawn and trees with beautiful white water views and Mendocino Headlands view. Walk a block on a private road to Russian Gulch Park and on to its beach, trails, cliff picnic grounds, and waterfalls, or bike to Pt. Cabrillo without going on Hwy. 1. Sit back under the stars listening to the waves in the very large and deep hot tub next to the deck. Hot tub seats around 6 and has many, many jets. Lots of outdoor seating. Outdoor dining area, teak adirondacks. Large rooms, new furniture, linens, new, copious kitchenware & appliances; good supply of spices, condiments, napkins, place-mats, serving platters, trays, wine glasses, and so on. Grill outdoors on the gas or charcoal grills; outdoor dining area. Big green lawn for kids & pets is fenced on 3 sides.

We're located less than 2 miles north of Mendocino village, a long walk west of Hwy 1, close to the ocean. The house is secluded in the center of over an acre of lawn, terraced garden, and trees, a walk on a private road to Russian Gulch State Park and its beach access. Occasional visitors include deer, turkeys, quail, and a fox.

Russian Gulch a short walk: Walk to Russian Gulch State Park and its beautiful beach from Pepperwood along the private lane. Very big lawn, heaven for dogs. You can play croquet starting in the backyard and ending up in the frontyard, although it's challenging in late summer.

The entire experience, from dealing with the owners through to getting to and staying at this special place, was wonderful. My family and I were celebrating my 50th birthday, and we all loved every aspect of the home - the location, the well-equipped, spotlessly clean kitchen and bathrooms, the furnishings, and the garden and situation. We are looking forward to the next time we can go up North. As a final touch, we broke a water jug, and after we'd let the owners know, they told us that this was "normal wear and tear "and that they wouldn't deduct anything from our security deposit. Class shows! I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in the classic Mendocino experience!

Enjoyable vacation

This house had a large, comfortable living/dining area. Very good 3 bed 3 bath. Being a little older home, the kitchen was smaller, but VERY adequate for any normal cooking needs. Great movie library. One of the best houses we were priviledged to 'borrow'.
Owner's Response: We love it when folks enjoy themselves at Pepperwood.

The kitchen is 20' x 10' with a counter at the end looking out at the waves hitting the Mendo headlands. It has new appliances, an Oster blender, cake batter beater, large food processor, toaster oven, toaster, very good set of knives, spices, and all the conveniences for cooking and serving that most folks ever need. The floor is dark hickory. We've set it up so that folks can cook and serve lovely dinners, and enjoy the process.
