Unfortunately we did not have enough days to enjoy all the things that the island has to offer.
We enjoyed the little private beach right in front of the house, used the boats to go on the lake and visited the playground and and tennis court.
It would have been nice to take the children to the teen center and the library or visit one of the many beautiful beaches around the island. The house is in good condition and the kitchen has everything you need.
We also liked the fact that there were board games, toys, child size life vests, and a big screen porch where children could safely play.
It was a great experience and a beautiful place to enjoy with friends and family.
We loved our visit to Frye Island! This house is in such a convenient location. We loved being able to walk to the general store, restaurant and ice cream shack! The kids enjoyed all of the offerings at the community center as well as playing at the fields, beaches, pool and playground. We loved that this house had its own private beach! The screen porch was perfect for hanging out on any time of day or evening. We are looking forward to returning this year!
Our day started with some early morning fishing or a walk around the island.
The location on the water and so close to the ferry, store, ice cream, restaurant / bar is wonderful. We also enjoyed golfing and spent some time at the community center playing tennis and basketball.
This quaint, clean cottage was a perfect setting which fit 6 of us just right.
Nothing bad to say, the house was well maintained and very clean and tidy.
We loved sitting on the front screened in porch, or in the front yard, watching the boats go by or thrill seekers jumping from Frye Leap, just accross the water.
Just a perfect vacation in a perfect spot.
Cozy cottage with a screened front porch that is perfect for early morning rocking (in a chair) as sun rises and ducks glide on calm lake.
So nice to have washer and dryer convenience in cottage. It is just a few steps to the restaurant , small store and ICE CREAM BAR. The Golf cart makes for wonderful trips around the island with stops at the golf course, community center and beaches.
This is a great place for relaxing. Return trips are a must.
We arrived in Frye Island site unseen and were ready for a week of relaxation, friends, and family.
The island has so much to offer. Our highest point of this vacation was renting a pontoon boat and taking it down the Songo River through the Locks from Sebago to Long Lake. We highly suggest this journey, but leave early in the morning as the lake can get quite rough in the afternoon.
We also enjoyed sitting on the dock and taking in the views. Frye's Leap is just across the water from this cottage and you can watch people jumping from it all day. The jump is 30ft high and a highlight of my husband and his brother's time on the island.
The cottage is adequate for a lake/beach style vacation. It could use a bit of TLC, but overall is in fine condition. The location, screened-in porch, and use of the golf cart make up for the shortcomings.
We are already planning our trip back for next year, and are seriously considering purchasing a vacation home on Frye Island. You'll see why when you get there!
