Great house for a skiing weekend

Went up to Beech Mountain on Presidents Day weekend for skiing and the house was comfortable and perfect for our needs - the description and photos were spot on. Booking and communication was easy via emails and the phone. Also John was prompt in helping us out on an electricity short - but note that cell phone signal is extremely patchy on Beech Mountain!

The 4 bedrooms were configured well for our two families - the parents on the 2 bedrooms in the upper floor, the 3 girls got the bunk beds and my son was happy in the last Queen bedroom downstairs. The children (from toddler -9 years) enjoyed the supplied toys and their own space. The house especially the kitchen is well equipped and we managed to prepare the meals easily, maintenance and cleanliness is good enough and plenty of space for the 8 of us with our skiing equipment etc. The children also had great fun playing with the snow on the golf course out back - we were lucky enough to get some real snow that weekend!

I would recommend this house anytime - and Beech Mountain skiing is great for beginners like us. We skied everyday so we didn't manage to check out any other winter activities. Enough food options around but mostly resort prices. We tried the famous Brick Oven pizza - fantastic pizza but expensive and slow if you arrive at the wrong time. Fred's Deli was good for lunch and also had a late lunch at the Cannery Crepes which was average.

Ski weekend

We enjoyed staying at the house with another family during our ski weekend at Beech Mountain. The house was the perfect set up for two families and possibly another as it allowed for a space for the kids to call "home" and another space for the adults to gather. We found the house clean and well equipped with all the essentials. Another plus was the fact the house was so close to the ski mountain and made for a low stress morning and late afternoon return. Finally, the deer in the yard were a great big hit with the little ones!

Nice house, came as listed. Not a lot of snow the week we stayed but we found plenty to do. They aren't kidding when they say you need 4 wheel drive in the winter! Had fun sledding on the hills behind the house and loved seeing the deer visit every morning and evening. Property was pretty clean. Shopping was fairly close and there is lots of dining available in the area if you don't want to cook. We did cook a lot and enjoyed the wonderful gas stove/oven. This house stayed nicely warm-no issues with being cold inside!

Excellent location! Super close to slopes at Beech Mountain and other activities. Great set up in the house - kids downstairs adn adults upstairs + nice size kitchen for cooking and socializing. Beautiful decks for relaxing with coffee or glass of wine. Great views of the mountains and sunrises. Nice walking spaces on the golf course. Pleasantly suprised to find board games - we packed a bunch, but will not next time. Loads of large deer right outside the back door - big bonus for the kids! Washer and dryer were a big help too! Owners were super easy to work with!!

We just finished a few days on Beech Mt and had a fantastic time. The house is no farther than 30 minutes from Boone, Linville Falls, Grandfather Mountain and Blowing Rock. We had our best day at Grandfather Mountain hiking and visiting the little zoo with out two boys.

On a rainy day, we went shopping in Blowing Rock, played in the large public park and visited The Blowing Rock.

The house was great after a long day of driving and hiking. It had everything you can imagine.

We had several good meals in Banner Elk at the base of the Mountain. Try the Stonewalls, Sorrentos and the Banner Elk Cafe.

Recommended for: Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children
