Palm Springs TOT #4184
We had a fantastic time and the house was perfect. We're already looking forward to our next weekend away from the city.
This was our 3rd time at Alexander Classic Palm Springs Pool House. We love it! We have been in the winter, spring, and summertime, and have always thoroughly enjoyed our stays.
The location is great, close to downtown yet quiet. The sun "sets" about an hour early in Palm Springs if you're anywhere near downtown due to the mountains to the west (areas to the east may have a little later sunset but they're less desirable areas and too far from downtown for us).
The backyard is really nice...new, always clean pool is very private and has lots of sun all day with nice mountain views. I would say the spa is large, very private and relaxing. Both pool & spa have always been well maintained for us, and the new patios sharp looking too. Feels like your own private resort!
The furniture is mostly new or near new and very comfortable. The ice & water dispenser always worked fine for us, and we appreciate the extra bags of fesh ice in the freezer that Terry provided, very thoughtful. A lot of care is evident in the restoration of this lovely mid century butterfly home. The high ceilings, clerstory windows, and crisp decor make it airy, cheery, very inviting and comfortable.
We always spend a lot of time at the pool, and love going to the nearby Spa Casino for entertainment and great priced dining. We love walking on Palm Canyon Drive and the people are very friendly and the shopping goes on for miles. We also like bike riding around the neighborhood, very pleasant. The mountain tram is a lot of fun and we like hiking up there in the summertime. The golf courses nearby are well run and affordable, and the water park is great to cool off in the summertime.
Kudos to Terry for running a nice, reliable, well equipped rental that has made our stays in Palm Springs so comfortable and enjoyable! We have always felt it is a great value and we'll definitely be back. Cheers!
We were 3 couples from Alberta down for an early start on summer. Our group loves cooking and we found the kitchen to be nicely equipped and convenient to the pool and outdoor grill. The home is comfortable and welcoming and everyone had their own nice bedroom. Lots of fun was had by all. Hated to leave! Booking and arrangements were smooth and efficient. Excellent value. We recommend to anyone looking for a fun vacation in Palm Springs. Convenient to shopping, downtown, etc. Thanks for making your home available to us!
Our annual golfing ladies' getaway was wonderful and this place was a big part of the reason. Nicely furnished and lovely pool and backyard. Nicer than in the pictures. Prompt and courteous help. I've already told family and friends about it. We really enjoyed our non-golfing time relaxing at the pool and shopping on Palm Canyon Drive. Thanks so much.
Our family had a wonderful vacation in this lovely home in Palm Springs. The home is just a sdescribed, very hip, welcoming, and up to date. Clean and well maintained. Very efficient and courteous booking process and responsive to all concerns. We will recommend to family and friends. The area has lots of fun things to do. We do recommend renting a car but you can walk to Palm Canyon Drive or ride a bike as it is flat, easy to get around. We loved walking downtown and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. Thank you!
Thanks for a lovely stay once again. This was our 3rd visit. We'll be back probably this summer. Everyone had a splendid time. The home is beautiful, in a nice setting and quiet with nice views. Everything went smoothly. John is very helpful answering questions, etc. The home is well maintained and updated. Cheers!
We have been renting from Home Away for several years and this was our worst experience! After John, the booking agent, took our money, he was no longer available to answer any of our questions in a timely fashion. That began when we found out my dad needed quadruple bypass surgery 4 days after we booked our trip. We contacted John immediately to cancel our trip and several days later heard back that there are NO REFUNDS-period. The house had only been off the market 4 days, really?? We were told that we could switch our days within a year, but with 3 kids and school schedules, we knew that wouldn't be possible. So we decided to go as planned and not lose our money.
We were not told how to get into the house, was there a hidden key, would someone meet us there?..until after we landed in CA. Every other house we rented sent us detailed info well before the day the rental started.
The 1st day of our stay we discovered the oven did not work. We contacted John immediately. 2 days later, day 3 of our stay, we received a text saying that the owner would meet the repair guy at the house the next day. When I asked Terry if anyone else had complained that the oven did not work, sure enough, the renters before us had. He came out, turned on the broiler and because it worked, ignored the oven issue. The reason we rent houses instead of staying in hotels is because we have 3 kids and eating out every meal is too costly.
When we asked for some sort of refund due to the broken stove for 5 out of 6 days of our stay, we were ignored. When we pushed further, the response was, "an oven is 1/1000 of the property so I'll be glad to issue a credit for 1/1000 of your rent. It is not possible to fix all appliances the same day as the complaint." We understand that, but he could have been more apologetic about it and more responsive to our complaint 2 days prior. He then went on to say we left the air conditioning set unnecessarily low and left the spa cover off the entire stay. Our response...it was over 90 degrees our entire stay!! One day it even reached 99, so turning the air lower did not seem unreasonable to us. As for the spa cover, there were no directions or rules at the house for us to follow. We don't own a hot tub, so we don't know how to take care of one! Our recommendation---don't rent this house if you are expecting any sort of decent customer service.Terry would be smart to find himself another booking agent!!
Palm Springs has really come alive! The decadent shopping is unbelievable, a huge new casino, the famous Aerial Tram to the mountaintops, and many nearby state and national parks make this a terrific vacation spot. World class golf courses, tennis courts, hiking, biking, water park, Imax theatres, etc. all nearby. Yet you can be as peaceful and lazy as you like! And of course the great winter weather is the best in the West!
