Seal Watch Cottage is a newly renovated home overlooking Lubec Narrows, the ocean channel between Lubec and Campobello Island, Canada. Watch the seals play and surf through the channel right from your first or second floor deck. Each second floor bedroom has a double sliding glass door opening onto the deck to capture the stunning views. The first floor deck offers space to seal watch, relax, or grill your favorite sea food. The fully equipped kitchen has all new counters, cabinets, and appliances including a dishwasher. High speed Internet and free long distance phone calls provided for those who absolutely can’t tear themselves away from the rest of the world. If you want to leave the rest of the world behind, a 3 mile long sandy beach is just a short stroll away. Two full baths; each has a four foot wide shower. Two bedrooms with queen and full bed. Bed and bath linen provided. No smoking.

The Lubec area is host to three state parks, wildlife refuge, and several nature preserves, all of which offer a variety of well maintained hiking trails. Lubec has several sandy beaches (rare this far Down East), bold coastal cliffs, coastal rain forest, and wildflower meadows. Lubecs' West Quoddy Head Lighthouse is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the country. Lighthouse lovers can visit 4 lighthouses within a 10 mile radius of Lubec. Local whale, wildlife, and puffin tours offer the chance to observe nature up close or you can rent a kayak or canoe to explore both salt and fresh water havens. You can also golf, swim in freshwater lakes, visit local galleries and craft shops, attend concerts, and visit local festivals. The area is rich in history: from the first naval battle of the Revolution to Maine's unique Cannery Row which lined the waterfronts of the Down East coast.   • May, June, Sept. Oct. $525/wk. July & August $625/wk. Add $50/wk for pets.
    $300 per week ($400 with pets) deposit due when placing reservation. This deposit acts as a reservation deposit to secure your reservation until your stay begins. Once you arrive, it becomes a damage deposit during your stay. Deposit will be returned after stay when house is left in good condition.

i can't say enough good things about seal watch cottage and lubec. i came here with my family including pets. we all loved it! the cottage is clean,roomy,very homey.the house had everything we needed as far as towels,sheets,kitchen utensils,cards,games,books,and free landline.(cell phone did not work). morning coffee and afternoon tea on the upper balcony was fabulous! naps in the hammock are essential.the neighbors are very friendly and the very short walk to the beach and town center made our trip perfect! we will definitely be returning to lubec, and hopefully seal watch cottage.

My two young border collies and I spent five nights for their first vacation away from home. The house was up to date, charming and we all settled right in. High speed wireless internet made the difference. The bed was comfortable and the property close to town, a 2 minute stroll. We drove to lots of places exploring and, on the last eve, over on Campobello Island (the bridge is across the street), saw two bald eagles sharing a salmon. Uncle Kippy's offers great family fare and sweet lobster rolls. Be sure to visit the Roosevelt Cottage on the island. The dogs swam at their beach. There wasn't a vacuum so bring one for pet hair (easier than sweeping). We fell in love with Lubec.
