Visions of Paradise:
The unique architecture of Villas Sacbe Unit 10 features 2-story windows overlooking the central courtyard and swimming pool, curved walls and open spiral staircases, and a palapa roof over the third bedroom. Interior highlights include rose-colored Tikul stone on all floors and striking local paintings and sculptures. The spacious living room seats 8 in comfort, and sliding glass doors open to a pleasant balcony above 1st Avenue. But the best place in our unit is the large private rooftop terrace with its plunge tub, wet bar and small gas grill, and peaceful views of the Caribbean Sea and Cozumel. Beautiful beaches (all public) abound in Playa and all along the Mayan Riviera. But we always love returning to Villas Sacbe to cool off in the courtyard pool (or the air conditioning inside), and relax in the evening breeze on the terrace.
Tastes of Paradise:
We gravitate to the stools around our custom kitchen island for food and drink, especially breakfast and lunch. And for happy hour with wine or margaritas, and fresh homemade guacamole and salsa with chips. Our kitchen is well equipped for preparing full dinners as well as lighter meals, with full-size stainless steel gas stove and oven. Chef service is available, too, but we take most meals at restaurants.
Resting in Paradise:
There are two bedrooms are located on the lower floor of Unit 10. The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed and a private bathroom, and is equipped with cable TV and DVD player. The second bedroom has two twin-sized beds that can be made up as a king, and uses the hallway bathroom. Each lower lever bedroom has a ceiling fan and an ample closet with safe, and opens to a small terrace overlooking 1st Avenue. The third bedroom is a romantic loft above the private rooftop terrace that has a double bed, and small balcony with a fantastic view. The large sectional couch in the living room can be used to sleep two if desired. A free portable crib is available upon request. But my favorite sleeping spot is under the morning sun on the private rooftop terrace. When I get hot, I step into the plunge tub. Then back under the sun. I love paradise. I may never go home.
