This is an upside down modern home with 18 large casement windows overlooking the Wellfleet bay from the living room, dining room kitchen area. The master bedroom and a full bath is also upstairs. Downstairs are two bedrooms, a bath and a family room with a queen size fold out sofa. The house is nestled in woods of oak and pine and the path from the garage to the house has wonderful woodsy smells on a warm summer day. The kitchen is fully equipped with all conveniences. In a mechanical room downstairs are the washer and dryer. Their are three decks. One off the living and dining room, one off the family room, and one half way down to the beach. There are electronic shade blinds to control the early sun upstairs. The house is fully winterized with propane forced air heat and has a Vermont Castings wood stove for ambiance in the living room area. There is full broadband internet access in the house and and a wireless USB adapter is provided as well at the software for using it.

Wellfleet and environs: Wellfleet has a very exciting bay with 9 foot tides. When the tide is low one can explore the ecosystems which include oyster and clam farming. It is a marine paradise. When the tide is low the surf is perfect on the ocean side 3 miles away. When the tide is high the swimming is wonderful and one can kayak, or fish or boat. Nearby between the bay and the ocean are numerous fresh water kettle ponds with sandy bottoms and one can see down 20 feet, absolutely clear. Wellfleet is near Provincetown where one can go whale watching, visit lighthouses. There are fishing charters everywhere. Wellfleet is in the middle of the Cape Cod National Seashore Park so much of the area is pristine but there is a lot to explore.

Sports: There is a park nearby with tennis and other activities. The Chequessett Golf club is 300 yards away and offers golf and sailing to the public.

Perfect Thanksgiving

We spent the week of Thanksgiving here and it was perfect. The weather was great, there were no crowds, and the house was warm thanks to the wood stove and lots of firewood. The kitchen was fully equipped to have a traditional holiday meal. The view is spectacular. The terrace level is great for older kids, affording two bedrooms and a family room complete with television. The decks offer comfortable seating and great views. It is certainly a place we would return to visit in the future!
Owner's Response: I would like to mention that the house is fully heated and there are a total of three bedrooms, the master being on the main floor.

Relaxing and peaceful despite the early June chill

The views from this home are gorgeous and the setting is very peaceful overall. We were the first rental of the summer of 2008 and found the property to be clean and well-maintained. The owner had just planted flowers which made it feel very homey. The 3rd bedroom with the 2 twin beds is quite small, but it does open out to the downstairs family/common room. I would recommend the property to friends, especially to a group of adults or to families with children who are old enough to handle stairs and sleep on a different floor than their parents. The owner was very accommodating in providing wireless internet service prior to our stay.
