Additional Information: The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave and ice maker and every conceivable gadget you could want. There are ice and cold water dispensers on the outside of the refrigerator. All linens are included. The Chalet has central heat with a fireplace for winter and central air conditioning for summer. Our Chalet is close to major grocery stores but we are located in a dry county so BYOB if drinking spirits is a must! We are convenient to whitewater rafting and kayaking in Tennessee or North Carolina, water activities on Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee, Georgia, tubing in Helen, Georgia, and the Cabbage Patch doll factory in Cleveland, Georgia. You can pan for gold or tour gold mines in beautiful Dahlonega, Georgia, hike the Appalachian Trail, visit scenic Vogel Park, Anna Ruby Falls, or Brasstown Bald Mountain, which at 4784 feet is the highest point in Georgia. Dahlonaga is about 35 miles away on Hwy. 515 and is the site of the first gold rush in the U.S.
Numerous opportunities for sight seeing include watching the seasons change in the Smokey Mountains, the Sorghum Festival in Blairsville in October, the North Georgia Mountain Fair in August, horse back riding in Track-Rock, and mountain biking year round. Or you can just sit on our porch and watch for deer in the yard, relax in the hot tub on the main deck or enjoy the crackle of a fire in the fireplace.
The Ellijay Apple Festival is the first and third weekends of October and offers some of the best apples and activities in the area.
Golf: There are several golf courses within an hour drive of the chalet. These are mountain courses and may not be suitable for the handicapped golfer. See the Blairsville Chamber of Commerse website for area golf courses.
Guest Book: Awesome place to stay, lot of fun, no matter what the weather brings there's lots of stuff to do. House is great and a beautiful place to stay. Morgan loves the jacuzzi!
