Great Snow Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We chose this house b/c it was not all the way to Colorado, but had the feel of Colorado! The snow was great, (which was why we went)! We used the houses 2 sleds to sled down the backyard hill, and hole #5 at the golf course! :-) We built snowmen and had snowball fights!! Our 2 and 3 year olds first time to play in the snow! The house had everything we needed! Great location, nice layout, and Ted was so helpful the entire time!! We called him at least twice during our stay for advice on restaurants/etc! I would highly recommend this house to anyone wanting to stay in the Angel Fire area!!

Immaculate Chalet nestled in tall pines

  • 5 of 5

To call this a cabin does not do it justice. It is a beautiful mountain home with lots of privacy in a fantastic location. Beautiful golf course community minutes to ski resort and a wonderful grocery store with an excellent selection of everything you want. The beds were hotel quality with soft cotton sheets, a large well appointed kitchen and large dining table accommodated 6 with room to spare. Nice amenities in the home included, Direct TV on three flat screens, books, movies, fireplace and cozy furniture made this a place we will want to return to. We grilled steaks one night on the back patio and watched 4 mother and 2 calf elk grazing. There were 2 plastic sleds that gave two 9 year old boys tons of fun in the large area behind the house. We got 12 inches of fresh snow the night we arrived and we skied for three days in the sunny 40's. We took the scenic, Enchanted Circle Drive the day before we left. Visited small towns along the way, stopped at The Rio Grande Gorge and bought interesting wares from Native Americans who are selling along the bridge then went to Taos for dinner before heading back home. The owners of this home take pride in making sure their guests are happy and we most certainly were.

Fabulous Winter Family Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

This was such a wonderful small town atmosphere with plenty of winter activities. Across the street is the ski resort with shops and plenty to do, but the location of this home is superb. It is tucked away in the trees on a hill for a more secluded environment with spectacular views and gorgeous sunrises over the mountain. This cabin had so much to offer! Front and back porch for sightseeing, deer that came up to the back porch that we actually got to touch and watch, a fully stocked kitchen, whirlpool tub to relax in after a long day and decorated with a mountain feel. Everything is convenient in Angel Fire, and the setting of this home was perfect! The snow was perfect for skiing, sledding and tubing. We also drove to Taos where we enjoyed a day of snowmobiling, more restaurants and shopping. The owners told us about Orlando's Mexican Restaurant which was a great suggestion for dinner on our way back to the cabin. Overall, had a great time in a great location and great owners that ensure your stay will be most enjoyable!

A Get Away From The Texas Heat!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, son and daughter-in-law, and I took advantage of this lovely home in August. The home is practically and perfectly laid out and on a large tract. No neighbor too close. Wonderful neighborhood for taking a walk and lots of trails in and around the sub-division. Although I brought my stainless steel skillet with me (can't cook without it) there really wasn't any need as everything was available for cooking and the little market in town had absolutely anything you might want. The weather was fabulous and while at the house we spent a lot of time on the front porch enjoying the scenery, and inside with all of the windows open enjoying the cool breeze. The owner was easy to work with and could not have been more personable or offered more assistance. We will definitely call Ted on our next visit.

A Great Indoor Experience, Woeful Landscaping

  • 3 of 5

Inside of home was as advertised, clean, comfortable beds with jacuzzi a great way to end a day. On the other hand, the outside of the property has been neglected with weeds, tall grass and overgrown shrubs sufficient to block any possible view from the front porch. We had planned to spend each day on the porch at sunrise and sunset, but abandonded the idea in lieu of a view down the road. Would not have booked had the exterior photos been taken within the last five years to show overgrown jungle.

Owner's Response: Sandy, Thank you for your honest review. When you advised me of the landscaping after your departure, I contacted my landscape maintenance crew and they did the necessary pruning and thinning the next day. Lilacs, aspens and spruce are now as they should be. They advise that the welcome rains this season have them behind schedule on their annual pruning and thinning. The enhanced natural view is now as it should be. I am pleased that everything else about the home met with your approval.

Memorial Day Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a place that had privacy and room for our 3 yr old grandson and we found it. We had 6 people staying the weekend ages from 70 to 3. This cabin worked perfectly for us. There was lots of room inside for all of us to be in the living room when we had a fire in the fireplace. We took the Enchanted Circle, beautiful sites and Red River area is amazing. There wasn't one time when we left the cabin that we didn't see Deer or Elk, and we seen more Elk than deer. Even had a deer walk through the yard. Being from Michigan I had never been to this part of New Mexico, now its one of my favorate places. I would recommend the Thrasher home.
