Porto Heli:
Porto Heli s the nearest village and has most of the amenities needed on a holiday.It has a variety of eating establishments, cafes, bars, nightclubs and the usual shops and even an open air cinema. Have a night-time stroll along the marine and check-out the boats and yachts moored in the beautiful natural harbour. Boats can be hired to enable you to explore the numerous secluded bays along the coast. The interesting coastline is ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving and there a local water sports school. In August Porto Heli has its annual festival.
Places to visit:
From Porto Heli you could visit, via ferry or water taxi, the Islands of Spetses, Hydra or Poros. Historical sites including Epidavros, which has the shrine to the Greek God of healing, Ascleplos and an amphitheatre, which still holds performances during the summer is only 50km away. Nafplion, the first capital of Greece, is 90km away is full of wonderful Venetian and Turkish architecture and has a number of interesting cafes and shops to explore.
Close by are the villages of Kilada and Ermioni (market on Thursday) . They have a number of sea front tavernas, many specialising in the locally caught sea food.
