This new home is picture-perfect with wood floors, lovely furnishings, modern appliances, filtered water, & central air. It is close to town, right near the new library. The house has wainscoting & crown molding throughout. The LR has flat TV/DVD and cozy seating. The dining room has a farm house Ethan Allen table w/ 6 chairs and 4 counter stools. We also have WI-FI, Cable, a game room with a full-size Kettler Ping Pong table. There is also a large sofa with a TV/DVD in the basement game room as well, and a queen pull-out sleeper. A great place if you don’t want to leave the video games off the island. The Master Suite is beautifully furnished with a queen sleigh bed, TV, and a private bath. The other bedrooms on the second floor share a bath. The 4th bedroom, is off the kitchen, was converted this year from a den, to a full bedroom with a queen bed and dresser. We have a private yard with a deck and stainless steel Gas Grill. A real home!
Great Location: We are a stone's throw from The Campgrounds with the famous gingerbread houses. It is such fun to wander through and see all of the colorful homes. Ocean Park, with the Gazebo, is a wonderful spot for picnics, flying kites, or just relaxing with a good book. It's right on the ocean, and a 10 minute walk from the house. You can watch the ferries and other boats. Circuit Ave is bustling with shops, restaurants, ice cream parlors, gourmet coffee, an arcade, and a hopping night life. No need to drive, you can walk there in 5 minutes.
Right down the street from Circuit Ave is the 'Flying Horses', the famous indoor merry-go-round where you can go for the brass ring and win a free ride.
Quality, Quality, Quality: Everything in the house is about quality. All mattresses, even the TWO sleeper sofas are from a quality furniture store. All windows have custom made wood blinds. The wainscoting and crown molding add a warm beachy feel. This house has all of the comforts of home. The kitchen has everything that you could possibly need. There is so much entertainment. There are several televisions, players. There are ceiling fans in the bedrooms. The basement will keep the kids busy on a rainy day, with ping pong. There are games, cards, and poker chips.
The beautiful furniture, Ralph Lauren bedding, and window treatments tie it all together.
Outdoors, there is a very quiet yard with a large mahogany deck and outdoor shower (with hot water). There is a table and chairs for 6 on the deck, and a brand new stainless gas grill. There is plenty of parking. New stone patio
There is so much to do on Martha's Vineyard: The Vineyard has great beaches. The biking on the island is wonderful. There are bike paths all over the island, and biking is a great way to explore the island, and find wonderful spots that you would never see in a car. There are great restaurants all over the island, from take out to gourmet dining, to a steamed lobster dinner to eat on the beach for sunset in Menemsha. Remember, that all of the towns are BYOB, except for Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. There is theater, art galleries, and shopping. For the kids, the arcade on Circuit Ave is a big hit, as well as the home made ice cream, at your choice of places. Jumping off the Edgartown Bridge is the highlight of many trips to the island. The mini-golf on State Road is fun for a change of pace, and don't forget all that there is to see up-island: the cliffs at Gay Head, the beautiful sunsets at the beach in Menemsha, which is a quaint fishing village, and the home-made chocolate at Chilmark Chocolates.
After spending college summers waitressing at Linda Jean's in Oak Bluffs, I had a special place for the Vineyard. I started bringing my husband here, and then our kids vacationed here for many summers before we decided to buy our own home.
Lori and Keith Murphy purchased this house in 2006
This was the perfect house for us. It is so close to everything, yet so quiet. We can walk into town any time, jump on the bike bath, or just hang out in the quiet yard or deck.
The house was brand new when we bought it, and it still looks brand new. We take very good care of it, as do our renters. Our renters come in and feel so comfortable here that they treat it like their own home.
This place is perfect. Everything is brand new and immaculate, yet it still feels like home. There is plenty of space and even three full baths! Downtown Oak Bluffs is about a 10 minute walk so it is right around the corner! There is wireless internet, a flat panel tv, ping pong and air hockey in the basement, and a beautiful kitchen that opens into the dining room and living room. We had 8 people and still had plenty of room because there are three bedrooms and a den with a pull out sofa so it is basically a 4th bedroom. Thanks for a great vacation!
Located an easy walk to Oak Bluffs center, your family will enjoy every aspect of this meticulously maintained property. Cool central air immediately takes the bite off of the island heat and humidity and comfortable seating encourages relaxing on the couch to watch high definition TV service, use the Wifi, or catch up on some reading. The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances and the essentials to prepare your favorite meal with fresh ingredients from the farmer's market. The mahogany deck always looks recently sealed and features a large table with umbrella in addition to some perimeter benches. The mahogany extends to the outdoor shower, which is clean and a great way to wash the sand off. The Ducane grill is sized well to cook for a group. Sprinklers keep the green grass soft and cool despite the hot summer days. On afternoons when rain showers mean an early return from the beach, the basement offers some extra fun with a air hockey and ping pong. The three bedrooms are large, tastefully decorated, and have enough closet and drawer space to fit a week's worth of stuff. Our family (2 adults, 1 child, 2 grandparents) have stayed at this property comfortably for 5 years and would recommend it to anyone.
I can't say enough about the quality of this home and the comfort. For years, I've lived on or rented in Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Never, has an owner I've rented from had a house like this! It's brand new construction with central brand new AC. My son has allergies and asthma and we live in the South where AC is standard. It's immaculate and not one piece of furniture or bedding seems like the house has ever been rented! I was so happy to arrive and felt less stress knowing I was staying in a real home that obviously the owners take much pride in keeping at a very high standard. Thank you so much for making our trip so nice.
Three generations of our family stayed in this wonderful home and had a fabulous time on our first trip to M.V. The use of the word "home" is most appropriate. The owners have thought of everything to make you feel at home from fresh cape cod decor, board games/cards/magazines, ping pong table, air hockey table, 5 tvs, pots and pans, washer/dryer with laundry products, beach towels and chairs . . . and the list goes on. We grocery-shopped and ate 90% of the meals at the house together, which is great because we rarely get to do so during our normal hectic lives. We sat out on the back raised patio for morning coffee or in the adirondack chairs reading during the day. We walked to downtown Oak Bluffs and the beach in about 10 minutes, drove a short way to the YMCA and to the movies in neighboring Edgarton. The weather was so nice while we were there we were able to open the windows most of the time and not use the A/C. Even our teens loved this home and were not ready to leave when it came time to do so. They each wrote wonderful sentiments in the house guest book. Our family would definitely recommend this home to any one visiting Martha's Vineyard, it is truly beautiful and the owners were great to work with. A+
My wife and I are our two 3 year old daughters spent July 4th, 2011, week here and it was amazing. We brought the girls blow-up pool and they played in the yard while I bbq'ed. Porch and yard were great from long summer nights drinking wine too. A short walk to downtown Oak Bluffs where we rode the indoor merry-go-round (one of our daughters caught the brass ring!) and had ice cream. House is located in a quiet neighborhood where we weren't apprehensive in the least to let our girls run around in the backyard. Truly a special place to spend some time. Thanks, Lori & Keith for a fond summer memory.
My family of 6 (3 generations) stayed in the house for a week in June 2011 and loved it! It was our first time to Martha's Vineyard, and we had a great time. The house was the perfect size for the 6 of us, with room to spare, and it's only a few minutes walk from downtown Oak Bluffs. The home is nicely decorated with plenty of amenities, with a game room in the basement, a porch with plenty of outdoor furniture and a nice grill, great cable selection, and televisions in most rooms. The kitchen, washer and dryer got plenty of use as well. The neighbors are all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this to others coming to the island, and I would stay here again as well.
This home is just up the hill from Oak Bluffs Harbor, and a short walk to restaurants & shops. The ferries are just a 5 minute walk away. You can walk 1 minute to get to the brand-new library, and public transportation. There are two public beaches withing walking distance, State Beach, and Jetty Beach (East Chop). The real beauty of this location is that it is a very quiet place to relax, yet so close to so many things. Farm Neck golf Course is nearby, as well as tennis courts.
