Pet-friendly cabin with loads of amenities; A+!

I found this cabin on HomeAway.com while searching for a reasonably priced, pet-friendly cabin in Northern Michigan. After viewing the photos, we had high expectations. Suffice it to say our expectations were EXCEEDED!
We recently returned after a week's stay in late August. First of all, the owner, Linda, was extremely helpful. She offered lots of recommendations of activities for us to do with our 9 and 11 year-old boys. She even delivered a FedEx package to the cabin that we had shipped to her house. Now that's customer service!
Regarding the cabin, at 1,200 square feet, it was plenty big for our family of four (and our dog!). Even after a week's stay, we never felt cramped - makes me wonder why I built such a large house! :) The cabin is newer, SPOTLESSLY clean, and has every amenity we could want. The kids loved the bunk bed in one of the bedrooms; my wife appreciated having a washer and dryer; the dog loved being on a secluded 5-acre parcel of land; as a family, we made sure we used the hot tub every morning and night; the kids loved the hot tub's 'disco' lights at night.
Being a thrifty family, we didn't want the vacation to break the bank. The cabin has a full kitchen with everything you could possibly need. We stopped at a super Wal-Mart in Cadillac on the way up from Wisconsin and loaded up on food. We were able to eat most of our breakfasts and some dinners in the cabin, and packed sandwiches for hikes and day trips.
The biggest surprise was just how perfect the cabin's location turned out to be! It's a mile from Crystal Mountain (biking, hiking, Alpine slide, water park, outdoor art park, etc.). Towns within 30 minutes drive include Frankfort, Cadillac, Manistee, and Traverse City. The dunes climb is about 45 minutes away.
All in all, our week stay in Michigan was one of the best family trips we ever took. The beaches were fantastic - no crowds, soft 'sugar' sand, no seaweed, and fun waves! One of our favorites was pet-friendly Van's beach in Leland. Why does everyone go to Florida? Another highlight was a 2 hours kayak trip (Riverside Canoe Trips in Honor - near Sand Dunes). Also, we found lots to do in the Traverse City area (the Beach Bums baseball game was a BLAST; parasailing was fun too!).
I cannot recommend this cabin enough. The owners are great; the cabin is great; its location is great; and Michigan is great!!! We will definitely return!!!
