Deauville Seasonal Apartments. Naples. Florida.

Deauville of Olde Naples is a small property in the area of downtown Naples, made up of several apartments of varying sizes. Ours was one of the smaller accommodations for 2, ie 1 bed. 1 bath on the ground floor but was nevertheless quite spacious with a large sitting room, and a small lanai overlooking a small garden. It was comfortably, if a little shabbily furnished and the large bedroom had a queen size bed - not as big as we were used to in the States or at home. Everything was spotlessly clean and there were new towels in the bathroom- bed-sheets were clean if rather tatty. We were disappointed to find the kitchen poorly equipped and without a dishwasher, but within two hours of us contacting the agent all the items we had mentioned arrived at the apartment, new and boxed except the dishwasher!. Excellent service and very friendly agent who rang and visited regularly to check whether we needed anything else. Another disappointment was the lack of laundry facilities in the apartment but a laundry room with all facilities is on site and we found this was not inconvenient - even if there was a $1 charge for the wash and another for the tumble dryer. There were cupboards of sheets, bath, beach and tea towels in the laundry and a small library of books, all of which could be freely used. In an outside storeroom was a selection of beach chairs and an umbrella for resident use.
The accommodation was accurately pictured on the brochure and it was only a five minute walk to the beach one way and to Fifth Ave. the heart of downtown Naples, the other. Here you can find rather expensive shops but many coffee shops and restaurants to suit every pocket.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone needing a quiet beach holiday with also the opportunity to walk into a lively area for a meal or a drink in the evening. If you want to access supermarkets and other day to day shopping, as almost everywhere in the States, you will need a car. This will also enable you to get to many of the various places of interest on the Gulf Coast.
This is our fifth or sixth stay in Naples - always in different accommodation. This time we have found one which suited us in almost every way and will be soon booking for 2010.
