Relax and enjoy the peaceful quiet of the Blue Ridge Mountains in a comfortable setting just 18 miles from Asheville and a short drive from Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. This spacious house is equipped with everything you'll need for the perfect family vacation or a romantic get-away. What a wonderful, peaceful week

The week went much too quickly - not enough time to capture all the sights in the area. Experienced great food, great art and entertainment & a house more comfortable than home!!! I've used VRBO often and have always been pleased with the rentals - this house was the best of all that I've rented. It was spacious, beautifully decorated and so comfortable. Loved watching the birds at their feeders.

So peaceful and what a view!

I made the perfect choice for our family with Shimer"s Mountain Top Home. We love climing mountain roads and that is exactlly where this home is located, at the top. The home is decorated beautifully, is very cozy and clean. Birdfeeders all along the deck provided us with a constant show. Owners even have books to identify if your courious! The layout is perfect for families with children. We stayed on the main level and sent the 2 teenagers downstairs and never heard a peep from them! We had family who lives in the area over for dinner and everything we needed was at hand. There is about a 30 minute drive to Hendersonville for groceries and resturants. Lake Lure and Chimney Rock are great places to visit and are also about a 30 minute drive. Maybe closer, too many cute roadside places to stop at, you'll never make it without stopping!

This mountaintop home was everything I was hoping for and more. The owners couldn't have been more accomodating. The home is beautiful, clean and stocked with everything you could need. The view is absolutely spectacular!! We loved exploring the area around Bat Cave and found our side trip into Asheville and the Biltmore very convenient. I looked at a whole lot of houses before deciding on Shimer's Mountaintop home and I don't think I could have found a better home for a romantic getaway with our "fur kids."
