Enjoy the amenities of this beautifully decorated one bedroom, one bathroom condominium. The condominium complex is directly on the beach with on roads to cross. The actual unit does not face the beach although it is no more than a 150 foot walk from my condo door to the beach and beachfront pool. The condo is light and bright with custom made living room furniture, a queen size sleeper sofa, accent pillows, and blinds. There is also balcony furniture, a personal wall safe, fine linens, plush towels, beach towels, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, two telephones, answering machine, two flat screen cable HDTVs with two DVD players, wireless Internet and handicap grab bars in the combined bathtub/shower. The Master bedroom has a king size bed. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with blender, toaster, coffee maker, hand mixer, ice maker, nice dishes and pots and pans.
The condo property has a heated, gulf-front swimming pool, lounge chairs, laundry facilities, elevators, lounge, and condominium office staff. Across the street and set behind a wooded park is a variety of boutiques, a Publix Supermarket, a CVS Drugstore, bank, liquor store, and 10 clay tennis courts. Only minutes away are excellent restaurants and the world-class shops and galleries of St. Armands Circle. Longboat Key is one of Florida's most beautiful barrier islands. Out-of-the-way yet easily accessible.

We are a family of four from Northern Illinois.
Marina purchased this condo in 2004
We fell in love with Longboat Key and the Beachcomber! The beach is beautiful and the property is well maintained by our meticulous on-site office staff.
The pool is directly off the beach so your view of the beach and sunsets are outstanding. There are many areas along the beach side of the building to gather with family or just read a book. Publix and CVS Pharmacy is a very short walk from the condo.
The two weeks we're spending here is like a little taste of what I consider heaven. I'm so relaxed that I've forgotten the exact date. Connie J.
PS. My Mother finally loosened up enough to admit that the tattoo on my foot is pretty, something I thought would NEVER happen. Mary Beth J
My family and I spent one of our best vacations on Longboat Key in this unit. What you see in these photographs is exactly what you get once you are there. It's a second floor unit that faces what would be called bayside but in actuality, you face the parking lot and street. But don't let that turn you off. All you have to do is walk down a flight of stairs and exit right onto a large furnished covered patio which is right on the beach. We ate many meals right there looking out over the ocean. The lazy might want to take the elevator to the lobby and exit onto the patio next to the pool but this unit is closer to the stair well and that's the fastest way to the beach. The pool is the size of a typical backyard in ground pool. It's clear, clean and cool and exits right onto the beach, very convienent. In fact everything about Beachcombers is convienent. The Publix supermarket is right across the street along with other shops. Its actually quicker to walk to it than to drive to. St. Armands is about a ten minute drive down the street. Great shopping for the wife, ice cream for the kids, and good resturants for the evenings you don't want to use the kitchen. If I sound like I'm over hyping this, I might be, but we enjoyed ourselves so much we're already booked at Beachcombers for this years vacation. Except this time we're spending two weeks instead of one. The only disappointment we had was when we tried to reserve this very unit again, it was already rented. The bright side is we decided to upgrade and get an ocean view unit this year. Beachcombers is probably the best bargin on Longboat. You could pay more to rent on Longboat, but you don't have to.
The location was beautiful and condo was clean and staff when contacted friendly and quick to respond. I was working in Sarasota for three weeks and wanted to stay somewhere on the beach with a kitchen and reliable internet connection. When I contacted the office prior to booking then assured me they had great high-speed internet. After checking the second day I was onsite, then internet was down, I called and was told sometimes the connection is weak because the walls are concrete and steel, then they had other issues with their provider off and on for the next two weeks. I was very very disappointed in this aspect of my stay. I wish they would have been upfront with their ongoing internet issues (the last week of my stay we weathered a Tropical Storm, so I don't blame the management company for any internet issues from that week)
Had I not been traveling for business, I would have rated my stay 4 stars.
thank you for a fantastic place. reception very helpfull. the appartment was very nice with everything you needed. would come back again. thank you xxxx
the slice of heaven was just that must say very clean very relaxing cant wait to go back on site mrg. very helpful will be back next sept.
My husband and I spent the first week of May in the Butler's condo and were very pleased with our week there. The purpose of our trip was to help me recover from an illness, and this was the perfect place to do so. We have been coming to the Long Boat Key area for 20 years, but this was our first stay at the Beachcomber. We were pleasantly surprised.
The unit was beautifully furnished and equally well maintained. The only item we were unable to find while we were there was a scoop for the coffee pot, and not that it wasn't there...we just missed it. The unit is very well stocked with anything you would need for your vacation. The location is perfect, walking distance to the grocery and drug store on the Key. The beach was perfect, as was the pool. The atmosphere was very laid back and relaxed. Obviously, we are Long Boat Key lovers, the area has some amazing restaurants and shopping. And now we are Beachcomber lovers as well!
A wonderful choice for a quiet, restful vacation. You won't be disappointed!
We stayed at this condominium the week of March 20, 2010.
Everything that has been described in this listing is accurate and the photos reflect the true appearance of this property and unit. Location is perfect. This building is beach front, smaller and much more quaint and private.
It was so much more enjoyable than larger properties we have stayed at in the past.
It was very relaxing and not the busied lifestyle of getting up and going out right away.
We had so much more room and no rush to get up and out like in the small hotel rooms at a larger resort.
Everyone could get up leisurely no rush out to breakfast. We had bought some breakfast basics to have around and would then eat lunch & dinner out.
They had everything you could need right on the property, And if not the on-site managers could assist you with anything. It was a very friendly building great for families, pool was perfect. There is even a gas grill on the property and everyday people were barbecuing.
We were two adults and two teenage children ages 16 and 19 . We all had a great time. There were several guest who had smaller children with plenty for them to do from the pool area to the beach.
Sea shells for miles.
Publix supermarket and CVS drugs are located directly across the street. St. Armands circle short drive away. Several great restaurants all within short drives.
Longboat Key is a great location and I would stay at the Beachcomber and this unit again. The owners were very accommodating and helpful throughout the transacation. Not one complaint from our trip.
Longboat Key and Sarasota offer many well known attractions such as the Mote Aquarium, Ringling Museum of Art, Maria Selby Botanical Gardens, live theater, world class restaurants and much more. Busch Gardens in Tampa and Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando are all within a 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hour drive by car.
Longboat Key offers 11 miles of beautiful white sand beach, spectacular sunsets and 10 miles of paved path for bikers and joggers. It is a safe haven for numerous shorebirds such a Osprey, the Great Egret, the Brown Pelican and many other species. Sea turtles lay their eggs on our shores between the months of May and October. Do as much or as little as you'd like. It is truly a slice of paradise on the beach!
