Great getaway - Oasis in conservation

We stayed here for two weeks and loved the quiet & solitude.
A charming cottage with all the amenities right in the middle of conservation. Truly an oasis. My children could wealk to a wonderful bay beach.

Nice view but.....

the property itself is in a bit of disrepair. It did not appear as though a thorough cleaning of the bathrooms (showers especially) had occurred before our arrival. A pipe in the basement near the washer and dryer leaked, so we emptied the bucket on a daily basis for the owner. The grounds could have been better kept. The stove did not work, luckily the grill did have gas so we were able to use that. The "bedroom" in the basement did not have any window furnishings to keep the light out. A rehabbed / power washed deck, some paint, new floors, and new furnishings would really bring some life back to the house. On a positive note, the view of the marsh was beautiful and we, along with our dogs, enjoyed hiking on the trail around it that we accessed from the property. It was a short trip to the beach, and the property itself was pretty private.

Great spot for off-season vacation

The house has a beautiful setting and gorgeous view; very peaceful off-season. The furnishings are simple & functional. There was lots of wildlife around, and few people off season. We brought our dog and appreciated being able to have him with us for the week. It's not truly 3 bedrooms as the basement has one big room with two queen sized beds in it...the beds are in separate locations in the basement, and they are separated by the stairs, but there are no walls or doors in these spaces for privacy. It was fine for our kids but three couples might not be comfortable there. As a family of four we'd definitely rent this house again.
