Hi Karl,
I hope this (long overdue) note finds you well and enjoying winter.
Chloe and I, along with our dear friends, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your beautiful Bank Street home in Harwich Port. We checked in on time and as planned and were instantly impressed with the cleanliness, beauty, and real 'family usability' of the home. Though it was our first visit we seemed to know where everything was in the kitchen. We have some of the same kitchen pieces! Pots, pans, glassware, etc, and that only served to make the place all the more friendly and familiar. The place is enormous! We were two families - four adults and three children - staying very comfortably, but the home could easily accommodate three families of four or more. There was a whole wing of the house we never even used! I think I actually got lost one afternoon looking for my daughter. The high-speed internet was surprisingly fast and we hooked up an iPod to the stereo quite easily for necessary dose of Eagles and Fleetwood Mac, etc. And because we were in New England, there was a bit of James Taylor too. The enormous back yard was enjoyed everyday (as was the BBQ for lunches and dinner) and we even caught a few glimpses of neighborhood rabbits.
The proximity to the beach is perfect too. About a half-mile each way, we found it to be an ideal downhill coast to get there on our bikes, and a very gentle pedal back. Bikes are definitely the way to go. Each day we collected different sea shells, and they now sit in a little bowl on my desk at work as a happy reminder of a great week.
Aside from your beautiful home, our favorite spots have to include Marion's Pie Shop (I'd pay almost any price for their key lime pie right now), and the absolutely awesome wine and cheese store I can't remember the name of that was just on the outskirts of Chatham (that we sadly only discovered on our second-last day).
What else can we say? The home was exactly as advertised, if not even more so: beautiful, clean, very spacious, great family style kitchen (with 2 stoves!), and a really great family room.
We found it absolutely ideal for our purposes, which was a 2-family vacation. I can see one large family enjoying that space too, or even three or four couples. It's very versatile: far from small yet still very cozy.
And if this sincere note of appreciation happens to land us on your preferred guest list for future stays...well that would be just fine!
