This was our second year staying in the cabin, it is just as described, very clean, secluded, and very affordable! I would recommend this to anyone who just wants to get some peace and quiet and to do some fun shopping and sight seeing! The cabin is equipped with everything you need except groceries. Don't be fooled by the price this a great place to stay! Can't wait till next October!!

PEACEFUL/QUIET CABIN

Submitted: January 31, 2012 Stayed: November 2012
WE WENT UP TO THIS CABIN TO CELEBRATE OUR ANNIVERSARY AND MUST SAY IT IS AN EXTREMELY COZY AND WELL-FURNISHED PLACE TO STAY. THE BEDS WERE VERY COMFORTABLE AND THE SCREEN PORCH IS A WONDERFUL PLACE TO ENJOY THE OUTDOORS. THE ONLY DISAPPOINTMENT WAS THAT IT DOES NOT GET REGULAR TV - WE WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO WATCHING THE SEC GAME; AS WE ARE GA FANS. WOULD COME BACK IF THEY DO GET CABLE/SATELLITE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THE PLACE IS VERY CLEAN AND HAS EVERYTHING NEEDED TO ENJOY YOUR VISIT.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit. Due to the forest trees, our satellite signal has been diminished, and we had to go with an internet-based television package. Our Roku box features movies and sitcoms from Netflix as well as news, sports, and children's programming. We unfortunately do not have local broadcasting. We suggest using our internet service to view local events through your laptop.

Relaxing get-away at Honeysuckle hideaway!

We take several vacations a year so when my husband and I started planning for our anniversary trip this year, the only thing we did know is that we wanted something quiet, peaceful, and secluded. Lots of searching later, looking over the photos and reading the reviews several times we were sure we found our spot for relaxation. We emailed the owners and they promptly responded back with our agreement. The drive to the cabin was serene. Looking at all the beautiful landscapes really takes you to another place. Once we arrived we made our way in and wow... The place was gorgeous. It was decorated in deep woodsy decor and it was clean. We really felt at home there. Minus the food we brought, the kitchen was supplied with almost everything you could possibly need. The bedrooms and bathroom were a nice size. At night we were able to BBQ on the grill, drink wine, play cards and listen to nature on the cozy patio furniture. We didn't really watch to much of the Ruko TV; unless one of us fell asleep for a nap. But it was nice. I was able to catch up on a series that I had been watching at home while my husband cat napped. We have Verizon and we did have cell service occasionally. The Internet was very helpful for searching things to do. We did some fishing in the nearby Toccoa river. We were not able to enjoy the trails due to all the rain we got but we did go White water rafting on the Ocoee. We used Rolling Thunder in McCaysville. It took less than an hour drive to get there. We can not wait to make another trip to Honeysuckle Hideaway. I definitely recommend saying here if you are looking for a clean, quiet, affordable place.Thank you for a great stay.

Mountain Getaway!

1 of 5
Submitted: October 11, 2011 Stayed: October 2011
The cabin is very nice and clean, but it is out in the middle of nowhere! There is NO cell phone service at all at the cabin, and no cell service on the roads near the cabin. There is absolutely nothing nearby. Lucky for us that we had filled up with gas, but not so lucky that we did not get food before we got there. It took forever to get to the cabin!! We did not stay but one night and left. We knew we did not want to have to make the trip all the way back to the cabin again. The cabin rules require that you take your garbage with you when you leave. Not good! There is no central air in the cabin, only one window unit. The tv in the bedroom has to be on the same channel as the living area, which means you can't change channels in the bedroom! This cabin would be great for those who simply want to get away from it all.
Owner's Response: We were very disappointed to see Beverly's remarks and have our positive reviews tarnished. As can be seen on the map, we are located in the National Forest in the Aska Adventure Area. It is approximately 11 miles from downtown Blue Ridge, and we have neighboring cabins, trails, waterfalls, and trout streams in the area. Per our rental information, cell phone coverage is spotty in the area. Depending on your cellular provider, you may or may not pick up signal at the cabin. There is, however, a telephone and Internet in the cabin for your use. The cabin rules do state to take garbage with you when you leave as to prevent bears from coming onto the property and making messes. It is a safety measure too. The cabin does have a large air conditioning unit that cools exceptionally well in addition to Directv with multiple movie channels, which most guests enjoy. We were sad to hear that this guest did not enjoy her stay.
