Mountain Getaway!

The cabin is very nice and clean, but it is out in the middle of nowhere! There is NO cell phone service at all at the cabin, and no cell service on the roads near the cabin. There is absolutely nothing nearby. Lucky for us that we had filled up with gas, but not so lucky that we did not get food before we got there. It took forever to get to the cabin!! We did not stay but one night and left. We knew we did not want to have to make the trip all the way back to the cabin again. The cabin rules require that you take your garbage with you when you leave. Not good! There is no central air in the cabin, only one window unit. The tv in the bedroom has to be on the same channel as the living area, which means you can't change channels in the bedroom! This cabin would be great for those who simply want to get away from it all.
Owner's Response: We were very disappointed to see Beverly's remarks and have our positive reviews tarnished. As can be seen on the map, we are located in the National Forest in the Aska Adventure Area. It is approximately 11 miles from downtown Blue Ridge, and we have neighboring cabins, trails, waterfalls, and trout streams in the area. Per our rental information, cell phone coverage is spotty in the area. Depending on your cellular provider, you may or may not pick up signal at the cabin. There is, however, a telephone and Internet in the cabin for your use. The cabin rules do state to take garbage with you when you leave as to prevent bears from coming onto the property and making messes. It is a safety measure too. The cabin does have a large air conditioning unit that cools exceptionally well in addition to Directv with multiple movie channels, which most guests enjoy. We were sad to hear that this guest did not enjoy her stay.
