Aska Adventure Area: Honeysuckle Mountain Hideaway is located in the Aska Adventure Area. This part of the North Georgia Mountains is an area of exploration. There are many mountain biking and hiking trails as well as waterfalls and canoe launches. For those adventurous souls, there is also kayaking, horseback riding, tubing, and white water river rafting. Fishing is popular with the guys, and the ladies enjoy shopping in downtown Blue Ridge at the boutiques, orchard stands, and antique shops. In the cabin, we have a book that is full of fun activities to do in the Aska Adventure Area and the locations of waterfalls, trails, restaurants, etc.
Mountain Bikers & Cyclists: Mountain Bikers have ample trails to ride on, including Flat Creek Loop, Long Branch Loop, and Stanley Gap Trail to name a few. The trails range from beginner to intermediate to expert, are open to the public year round, and range in length from 1 to 10 miles. The trails ascend to near 3,200 ft, providing vistas of mountain ridges, and descend to the shores of Lake Blue Ridge. Cyclists also have the opportunity to ride the same roads as those in the Tour de Georgia! Rides offer spectacular views, challenging climbs, and fast downhill adventures!
As a Florida family, we wanted a vacation destination where we could escape to the mountains. We love spending time in nature and getting away from the daily grind. In Blue Ridge, we put on our hiking boots, hit the trails, and look for wildlife. The whole family loves nothing more than seeing a doe and fawn in the woods. When we're there, we notice how the mountain air is intoxicating and just how clear the night sky is with all its twinkling stars. It's a truly stellar getaway!
Billie Jo & Jason Giles purchased this cabin in 2006
Honeysuckle Mountain Hideaway checked many boxes off our checklist. For one, it is near the national forest, which is not far from downtown Blue Ridge. Secondly, waterfalls and trails, including the start of the Appalachian Trail, are in the vicinity. Thirdly, the cabin is located in a beautiful mountain area where we can drive easily--no steep inclines. Lastly, it is just the perfect size cabin for our family of four.
We love that our cabin is unique as it is built with real logs and chink. The fireplace definitely gives it a special charm as well. Mostly though, we like that it's a cozy place of serenity with all the modern features of a home.
This was our second year staying in the cabin, it is just as described, very clean, secluded, and very affordable! I would recommend this to anyone who just wants to get some peace and quiet and to do some fun shopping and sight seeing! The cabin is equipped with everything you need except groceries. Don't be fooled by the price this a great place to stay! Can't wait till next October!!
I went up on Thursday night and did not hear a human-made sound for 24 hours. It was a great retreat to work on my writing. The screened in porch was great and I camped there several times a day. Billie Jo is great to work with and very responsive. She saved my vacation after a cabin from a different owner fell apart at the last minute. Billie Jo, you're my hero!
It is 25-30 minutes from Blue Ridge, but the country drive is so beautiful, that is a non-issue.
very nice cabin, better than described, very clean and well furnished. Lots of little extras, all you need is groceries. The "neighborhood" is one of the coolest I have seen in North GA, secluded well kept cabins scattered through the woods.
Close to all that the area has to offer - swinging bridge, Toccoa River canoe trail, trout fishing, Aska, downtown blue ridge, and more. Highly recommend this cabin and area!!!
Cabin was awesome and it was everything described. Great location, a lot of great activities and thhings to do. Toccoa river restaurant is awesome! Can't wait to come back next year
Clean, Excellent and well maintained cabins. My family and my friends family stayed in these cabins for 2 nights. We enjoyed it a lot. We had lot of fun. Its a memorable stay. Cabin looks as it is advertised. Thanks to the owners for letting us stay. We will definitely visit this place again and recommend it to our friends.
This place was amazing. My friend found it on this website. I was very skeptical at first as the price per night was 'too good to be true.' I was actually very impressed. Very clean and cozy, this place offered many amenities and common household products that came included. The people that own this place obviously take good care of it. Definitely recommend this this place.
Located in the North Georgia Mountains, Honeysuckle Mountain Hideaway is just a short drive from Atlanta. Only 1.5 hours away from the city and you're in nature! Our mountain neighborhood borders the U.S. National Forest and is just a half-mile from the Toccoa River. The North Georgia Mountains are a beautiful place to visit in every season! Spring is a great time for fishing, cycling, or hiking trails. Summer is a fun time for mountain biking or water sports: canoeing, kayaking, and tubing. Fall is a fantastic time to view autumn foliage...beautiful leaf changes! Winter, of course, is a perfect time for curling up in front of the wood-burning fireplace and sipping cocoa, or going antique shopping! You will truly find many fun things to do in the Aska Adventure area.
