Polynesian Paradise in Pasadena

My family and I just stayed in the Polynesian Paradise for the second time and it has now become our home away from home when we visit Pasadena. The house is clean, the pool is beautiful and the location is excellent. It is a quick 10 minute drive from Old Town Pasadena and we made it to downtown L.A. in 30 minutes. There is plenty of space for our family of four--the kids sleep upstairs in the loft and the adults downstairs. The owners are very friendly and helpful and the neighborhood is very safe and family friendly. We travel to Pasadena once and year and plan to stay at the Polynesian Paradise on every visit...this vacation rental can't be beat!

My husband and I stayed at Polynesian Paradise in Pasadena for 2 weeks - over the 2012 December holidays. The property is exactly as described - lovely, private, well-appointed & well-maintained. The waterfall was not working when we arrived but was quickly repaired when we notified the owner. Both the sauna and the hot tub heated up quickly and maintained the perfect temperature during use. We chose not to heat the pool due to the season but it was beautiful to look at all the same.
Amenities and furnishings inside the cottage provided everything we could possibly need during our stay. We had no difficulty preparing regular meals - including Christmas dinner. The convection oven was especially nice. The bed was extremely comfortable (better than home). The neighborhood is perfect for strolling or exercising; very safe and picturesque neighborhood with well-maintained sidewalks.
We were in Pasadena visiting our son so we did not spend a lot of time 'sightseeing' however we did find some great hiking nearby that we would highly recommend: Echo Mountain was a beautiful hike with panoramic views of LA. Plus the trail head was less than a 5 minute drive from the property!
Old Town Pasadena, always great for shopping and dining, was especially beautiful decorated for the holidays.
We would definitely stay here again - and will recommend this property to friends and relatives looking for a unique place to stay while visiting the LA area.
