Ah, Zihuatanejo!: Your dream of paradise. Crystalline white sand beaches. Warm waters. Palm trees. Palapas lining the beach. Eat guacamole three times a day. Sip a fresh coconut juice with a straw. The sun shines pretty much all winter long. The sea breeze off the bay is cooling and refreshing. Seafood is the local specialty. The many restaurants in this small coastal town serve fabulous local, as well as international cuisine. You will eat well for $5 or $50! They will even cook your catch for dinner. The gentle waves of the bay are perfect for swimming and snorkeling. There is also surfing, scuba-diving, deep-sea fishing, sailing, wind-surfing, dancing, and horse back riding. Shopping is a treat: for fresh mangos, silver jewelry or artisan handicrafts.

Another day in paradise....: Wake up to the sound of the waves lapping at your dreams. Make fresh juice from the oranges you bought at the old world style Mercado Central the day before. Have a cup of coffee and a pan dulce. Walk down the hill and take a morning stroll on the beach. Watch the pelicans. Watch the crabs. Watch the alligators. And the tropical birds. Smile at other folks watching the same things. Park yourself under a palapa with a good book, a sketch pad or a game of scrabble with your mate. Sunbathe a little. When we first came to Zihuatanejo, back in 1978, it was a sleepy fishing village, where you could spend all day at the beach lying under a palapa. You could take an occasional plunge in the gentle surf, sip a pina colada, dine on the freshest fish, and take a nighttime stroll under more stars than you could ever dream up. That was almost thirty years ago, and hardly anything has changed. From our condo, La Ropa beach is only a five minute stroll. You can swim, boogie board, get a massage in a tent right on the sand, dine at one of 16 beach front restaurants or hang out under a palapa with a good book. The authentic village of Zihuatanejo offers shopping, spas, yoga, dancing, dining, sunset cruises, an Artisan Market, deep sea fishing or the old world style Mercado Central. To the north and south are open water beaches with world class surfing and Ixtapa has two golf courses. Our condo is the perfect staging ground for a life in paradise.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency () unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

Notes

  • Email us to inquire about holiday rates.
  • Prices include ALL TAX, concierge, maid service, bottled water, luxury linens, WIFI and SKY TV.
    We also have filtered water at the kitchen sink and in the whole condo.

    DAMAGE DEPOSIT- A damage deposit may be required. The deposit does not
    apply toward the rent. However, it is fully refundable within 14 days of departure.
    We accept Paypal with a 5% processing fee.

    RESERVATIONS
    50% deposit is due within 7 days of booking to hold the reservation. The balance is due 60 days prior to your arrival.

    CANCELATIONS-
    Rates are non-refundable.

    For this reason, we suggest trip insurance purchased through your travel agent or online. Trip insuarance also usually includes emergency medical care such as Medevac.

    If you do need to cancel, at Harriet's discretion, you may be eligible for a credit towards a future trip.

    Early departure does not warrant any refund.
  • Children are welcome: please remember that the living room is an open air terrace.

  • The master bath has 2 rain shower heads plus and hand held. Both shower stalls have hand cut marble tiles and pebble floors. the counter tops are hand poured colored concrete. The master bedroom is a suite with its own bathroom. The other bath is in the hallway convenient to the whole condo.

Notes: The main room is a Mexican style al fresco room, just like a terrace, only it’s your living room! It has a handmade wormwood dining table that seats 6. The kitchen eating bar has 2 hand embossed leather stools. All the kitchen crockery and glassware are handmade. We have duel water filtration system in the kitchen. The maid service is 3 X’s week, more if you desire. Cook, shopping services, babysitting and guided tours can be arranged. We have 2 boogie boards, yoga mats and DVDs. The stereo system is wired throughout the condo.

This was our 2nd time staying at Sueno Del Mar and it was just as fantastic as the first time. Harriet is so easy to work with by answering all of your questions and is prompt is getting back to you. The pictures don't do justice to how awesome the condo really is. Beautiful and tastefully done in all the fine craft and workmanship of Mexico - right down to the hand made dishes and beautiful pictures. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the gadgets, blenders, coffee maker, juice presser - you name it you got it! There are 2 infinity pools to relax and spend a day gazing at the ocean and small ships passing by. And the balcony (right off the master bedroom) is a great place to watch the sun set as well as sit and have your favorite cocktails after a day at the pool or beach.
The condo is squeaky clean and well maintained. Zihua is a place to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather and Mexican food and there is no other place to stay than Sueno Del Mar.

Life Changing ...

While you may think that title of this review is a bit over the top ... we kid you not. We defy anyone to spend a week at Sueno del Mar and not be completely captivated by its beauty, charm, romance, luxury, and the well being that will envelope you the longer you stay there. The art in the condo is so very perfectly chosen; it was this and the view that first took our collective breath away. The owner Harriet was so easy to work with, very accommodating and so very helpful. The onsite staff were very friendly and helpful. The town also seemed to welcome us with open arms. We laughed, cried, loved, relaxed, lounged, played, slept, swam, read, sailed with Eddie, hiked, explored, shopped, cooked, ate, drank, and allowed the lingering winter cold to steadily drain out of our 50-something bodies ... to be replaced with wellness, no morning stiffness, no aches, no pains. We had no issues with bugs or critters. Yolanda kept the place immaculately clean for us. The only downside of this amazing place ... having to leave.

Wonderful - Simply Beautiful

We can't say enough about how gracious Harriet was and how much we enjoyed her beautiful condo. The condo is 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a full washer and dryer in the second bedroom closet/storage area. The master bedroom has its own bathroom, and a private balcony that allows you to sit in bed and look out over Playa la Ropa. I am very particular and fussy, and this place met every expectation. The condo is fully stocked with everything you need - a full kitchen with all appliances and miscellaneous items (coffee maker, grinder, juice blender, you name it). Harriet was in Zihuatanejo and stopped by to say hello. We were getting ready to go to the grocery store, and Harriet gave us a bag of great coffee beans when she found out that we couldn't find any coffee in the condo unit. This place was fantastic!! 5 stars all the way.

Thanks for the great review! The coffee was Peet's coffee form California.There is great local coffe at several stores downtown. Caracol is one of my favorites...the strong beans of course! I loved having two exuberant happy couples staying in my place. I loved watching Angela in the mornings cruise effortlessly down the sand on a run. You were excellent guests. I know you are great at finding the best places to stay so I was honored that you chose us.

We had the privilege of calling Sueno del Mar "our home" for two weeks in January for our first trip to Zihuatenejo. This condo is even more beautiful than the pictures on this website, and what the pictures can't convey is the beauty of nature you'll experience from this place: the sound of the surf, the wonderful breezes and the drama of the sunsets.

Everything in the condo was of excellent quality and in perfect working order. The art and accessories in every room are a delight and a beautifully equipped kitchen was an added treat. The rental process was great and the owner provided both an excellent guide to the condo and an "insiders''" guide to Zihuatenejo that was invaluable. I would absolutely recommend this property!

During our stay, we enjoyed eating at lots of local restaurants: Paty's Mar y Mar and La Candela on La Ropa, La Casa Vieja and La Gula at La Madera, and Los Braceros and Coconuts in Zihua. We spent one Sunday evening with lots of local folks at the basketball court in Centro Zihua and ate some wonderful food from the street vendors. We enjoyed cocktails and sunsets at La Escorella and Las Brisas del Mar (though our condo was hard to top for this!) and music at Daniel's (Jimmy Mamou), Bandido's (Michelle La Valle) and La Casa Vieja (a charming pianist/singer whose name I've forgotten.)

As for outings, we enjoyed and would recommend: we took a panga from the pier in Z to spend the day at Playa Las Gatas twice, took the bus to Playa Linda in Ixtapa then a panga to Isla Ixtapa for another day of hanging out. We enjoyed a great sunset cruise on the Piquante catamaran and rode buses to Barra de Potosi where we took a wonderful boat tour of the lagoon with Avi "Shark Boy."

Bottom line: we loved many things to see and do in Zihua, but most of all, we loved coming home to Sueno del Mar!
