Ca na Maria is in the lovely valley of Cala Santanyi with its deep white sand beach only 25 metres from the front door, it is an ideal location for a family holiday. Close by are tennis courts & pedalos for hire, a scuba diving & windsurfing school & diving platform in the bay. The villa has 1 double & 5 twin bedrooms, 2 with en suite bathrooms, 1 more bathroom & a shower room. The large lounge/dining room has French doors opening to a terrace with 2 teak sun loungers & 10 seater table. The kitchen is well equipped with ceramic hob, fan oven, microwave, 12 place dishwasher & large fridge/ freezer. Other amenities include CD/radio, satellite TV, DVD, washing machine & fans in all rooms. The villa is set within its walled garden, planted with scented climbers, lawn and herb bed, with parking for a car in front of the garage & large barbecue. There are several restaurants in the valley & a small supermarket selling food & many other items. Santanyi (3km) has excellent shopping facilities

Cala Santanyi is situated only 3km from Santanyi, a traditional town with few modern buildings. Twice weekly, markets are held in the main square selling fruit, vegetables, fish, flowers, clothing etc. There are several banks, bakers, post office, 24hr clinic, many other shops and 4 supermarkets all have specialist counters. This part of the island is known for its beautiful beaches, as well as Cala Santanyi, are Es Trenc 5kms long, Cala Llombards, S’Amarador & Cala Mondrago, there is also an 18 hole golf course at Cala D’or, all of these are about 15 minutes drive. Cala Figuera, the next inlet is a very pretty fishing port, known as ‘the Venice of Mallorca’. There are over 200 caves on the island, many of which are spectacular and can be toured. Palma 55kms, is a beautiful city, with excellent shops, a castle, a magnificent cathedral and many other attractions. Manacor is known for its cultured pearls, Inca for its leather goods and the west coast for its wonderful scenery.

  • PLEASE NOTE AS WE DO NOT WANT TO DISCOURAGE SMALLER PARTIES, THE RATES QUOTED ARE FOR 8 PERSON OCCUPANCY, EACH FURTHER PERSON WILL BE AT 50% OF THE PER PERSON RATE. Included in these prices are all pre and post cleaning, weekly cleaning, bed linen and bath towels, welcome pack of coffee, tea, milk, sugar, eggs, bread, butter, 8 litre bottle of water and bottle of wine, beach towels are available, if required for a small charge for laundering. A 25% deposit is required on confirmation of booking, with the balance to be paid 6 weeks before arrival. A refundable damage deposit of £250 in the form of a cheque should be sent to the owner at the same time as the balance payment, this will be held and returned in full subject to there being no damages or breakages. The villa is available from 4pm on arrival day until 10 am on day of departure to allow for cleaning. If further cleaning is required the housekeeper is available at 12 euros an hour, this should be booked in advance with the owner

Notes: In the reception/ dining room we now have an air conditioning unit, which acts as a heating unit if the out of season weather is cool. Also in this room is a music system, Satellite TV and an all region DVD player with a selection of approximately 40 discs, ranging from young children's viewing to certificate 18. There is now a large built in barbecue with chimney in the garden, also new floor tiles, doors and lights throughout the villa. 2 cots and 2 high chairs are available for our littlest guests!

Facilities: The kitchen is extremely well equipped with ceramic hob, large fridge/ freezer, 12 place setting dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, stainless steel pans, ice cream maker, juicer, coffee makers etc. The double bed is super king size and the twin beds can be pushed together to make doubles. All rooms have air cooling fans and there is a ceiling fan in the kitchen. There are power showers in all bathrooms. The dining table inside seats 6 and is extendable to seat 12 but there is another 10 seater teak table through the French doors on the terrace also 2 sun loungers. Although we do not exclude smoking, we would prefer for the comfort of all guests that smoking is restricted to the terraces, balconies and outside. Although the lovely beach is just outside the front door, there is a pool in the apartments above the villa which we have used if purchasing some drinks! There is a family run restaurant by the beach, open from approx 10-6pm where English is spoken by the owner.

Family holiday

Our family of nine included two juniors and two teenagers and two grandparents and we were all comfortably accommodated.
The added attraction of being right on the beach was a bonus for everyone.
As we went in half-term week at the end of October not all of the local amenities were open but the weather was great.

We found that a suitable sized vehicle was essential although we only visited the city twice. Bicycles are also available for a resaonable daily rate.

It also helps that the villa is owned by an English lady!

This was a great holiday for our famiy and we thuroughly ejoyed our stay at ca na maria.
We had a weeks holiday, as a family of four ( 2 adults and 2 girls thinking they are teenegers already!)
Without having to hire a car we found it easy enough with a local spar shop less then a ten minute walk away to supply our needs. The resteraunts were close at hand and met our requitements. The beach felt like it was on the doorstep and was brilliant to spend time on during our stay, the sea was crystal clear!
In the house there was everything we needed, very well kept and to a perfect standard. It was also nice to be able to watch english TV too!
we highly reccomend this villa as a family holiday residence.

Great location for beach lovers

We have just returned from a seven night stay at Ca Na Maria. There were 11 of us in all, 9 adults and 2 children. We were very impressed with the location, you literally cross the road outside the villa and you are on the beach. Across the road from the villa is a car park which can be very busy on a hot day when the beach starts to fill up but in the evening the area is very quiet and peaceful.

The villa was generally comfortable, clean and well equipped. The air conditioning was very useful. We had two young children with us and very much appreciated the safety gate at the top of the stairs (since the living accommodation is upstairs).

The beds in the garden room were very soft so we chose not to use that room. Our bed (the King size) was very comfortable. The rest of the beds also appeared to be good.

Overall I would return to this villa, but probably with a maximum of ten occupants. If you visit the area, I would recommend eating at the Restauran C'an Bennassar in Santanyi's town square. It's right next to the town hall. A great location, friendly staff and the food was reasonable and superb.
Owner's Response: As can be seen in the photograph of the garden bedroom, the beds are a classic style, with very deep mattresses. I do appreciate that many people nowadays tend to prefer a firm base to sleep on and am now looking into rectifying this, as the comfort of our guests at Ca na Maria is of paramount importance to us. Our aim is to provide a family home away from home.
Up to now we have had several parties of guests numbering 12 in the villa, the only problem that arose so far, was one family did not find the second set of cutlery, so thought we were not providing enough!
We are constantly trying to improve and appreciate all responses from our guests, which we try our utmost to act upon. Caroline

Specious villa in a great location

Villa Ca na Maria is an excellent choice for holiday. Numbers of bedrooms and bathrooms, leaving room and a large balcony overlooking the beach provide a great accommodation for a large group of friends or few families. All rooms are well equipped in all the necessities and the house is being regularly cleaned.
One of the great aspects of this villa is its location as it is just a few meters away from a lovely sandy beach. You can also take advantage of a swimming pool and other amenities of nearby hotels.
If you are not on a beach or having a siesta in your apartment you can always enjoy a walk around Cala Santanyi and if do, don’t forget to go and admire Es Pontas.
The house is equipped with all the kitchen necessities which mean you can cater for yourself but if you are fed up with cooking yourself you can always take a walk to a nearby restaurant for a meal.
If you want to see the vicinity of Cala Santanyi then the nearby town Santanyi, especially its market, is definitely worth a visit.

Great property in an unbeatable location

We spent 2 weeks at Villa Ca na Maria in Cala Santnyi in July 07. Although there were 4 adults and 4 children in our party the villa is more than large enough to cope and would comfortably have handled another 4 in my opinion.

I cannot stress enough the spectacular location of the villa which is quite literally a stones throw from the beach and lovely bay , which the balcony looks directly on to. The large ceiling fans in the main living room cool the warm evening air although now i understand air conditioning is to be fitted to keep you extra cool !

The villa was clean , very well equipped and is a very short walk from several restaurants and bars.

Ramona and Marta , who help maintain the property , were helpful and knowledgeable on all things local and were able to recommend where the best markets , restaurants etc .

In my opinion this villa is ideal for large families or families traveling together and i can absolutely guarantee you cannot get a better situated property in Cala Santanyi. The best recommendation i can give is that I would definitely stay there again
