Coral Bay Outlook is a lovely, hillside house overlooking one of St John’s most spectacular harbors with views of the British Virgin Islands on the horizon. Our house is fully equipped for gourmet cooking or just relaxing in the quiet, lush garden. Coral Bay’s restaurants and shopping are within easy walking distance, and we are a short drive from the white, soft sand beaches of the north shore and the wilder bays along the south side. The location is convenient but also private. Coral Bay is the most beautiful part of the Caribbeans most special island - St John, USVI.

Two thirds of the island of St John is a National Park. The village of Coral Bay nestles on the east side of the park next to Coral Bay Harbor. In the village, there are small shops and several excellent outdoor restaurants with live music and beach bars fronting on the harbor. The famous Skinny Legs bar is just minutes away by car. Our house is within walking distance of the village; yet high enough above the town so that the property is private, quiet and has wonderful views. You will be surrounded on three sides by gardens with jasmine, bougainvillea, and palm trees. Many of the island's best beaches are just a few minutes drive from the house. Water sports equipment and boats are available for rent nearby.

Therefore, you may rent the entire house for up to 7 people - perfect for two couples who want privacy or for a family traveling with another couple. Or rent the main level for 4+ people or the very affordable garden level for 2. Whatever you chose, you will find the views are superb from both levels, and the accommodations are comfortable with Caribbean rattan furniture, cool natural tile floors, and 10 foot high Bahama-style ceilings on the main level. The house is situated on a hillside about 200 yards from the harbor's edge and has the advantage of wonderful views and cool breezes.

Notes: The house faces east and is situated so there is always a comfortable breeze even in the summer time. The place comes fully equipped indoors and out including beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas. When you are home, you will be in a relaxed setting with open decks, large screened windows, high ceilings and comfortable rattan furniture. And when you want to go snorkeling, swimming, or sample one of St John's well known open air restaurants, you will find them all nearby.

Close to pristine beaches and snorkeling: Coral Bay is close to many of the best beaches and most interesting snorkeling on St. John. It is a short drive to the quiet Great Lameshur and Salt Pond Bays on the south side of the island. It is also only a short distance to the famous Francis, Maho and Cinnamon Bays, known for their soft, white sand and excellent snorkeling. One of the favorite places for snorkeling is Leinster Bay where you can usually swim with sea turtles as they feast on the eel grass. Ashore, the wild donkeys will poke their heads out of the surrounding tropical forest curious to see what you are all about.

Great House. Super clean and accessable to several resturants, groceries, and 20 minutes from Cruz Bay. Great breeze on the deck and views are wonderful. Sunrise across Coral Bay and night view of bay are beautiful. Close to all the snorkling and bays. Would stay again. Stayed in the upstairs with two bedrooms which had plenty of room and could cook in or go to near by resturants. Drinks on the deck in the afternoon with the view and breeze were super.

Great place for a family with kids

Annie was a great owner to work with in all aspects of the trip. She was a great help in making the booking and payment of the house relatively painless and gave us some great ideas for places to visit! The house was exactly as we imagined, clean, spacious, and well equipped. The upper level deck was great at night, as you could hear the local bands playing at the bars below, and the moonlight reflecting off the water was awe inspiring. The neighbors were very helpful when asked but basically went about their daily chores with a friendly “hello”. The house was only several minutes from Coral Bay making it easy to run out and get supplies as needed, depending on where you stay on St. John this is not always the case. Overall Coral Bay Outlook was a nice affordable house which became our base for a wonderful vacation.

Get the Island Feel @ Coral Bay Outlook

Our stay at Coral Bay Outlook was fabulously tropical and convenient. By the end of our stay, the house felt like a home. Everything is tastefully decorated in island style. The kitchen is well equipped and designed for multiple users. The house really has an open feel to it that is hard to perceive by looking at the pictures. My favorite feature of the house is the marvelous indoor/outdoor shower. You enter the large terracotta- tiled shower from the inside, but once in the shower, you have an open rooftop and magnificent view of the harbor. We lived on the deck with its fantastic view of Coral Harbor. I think my husband could have sat there all day watching the boat arrivals and departures. Although our visit was in July, we had great tropical breezes our entire stay. The house is convenient to markets, Lily’s Market and Love City; restaurants, Island Blues (our fav), and Miss Lucy’s (don’t miss the brunch), snorkeling gear rental at Crabby Shack’s, deli food and sandwiches at Big Belly Deli, and of course the beaches, both North and South. The house had chairs, coolers, and beach towels for beach use. The outside of the house was well landscaped with a “patio” area with table, chairs, and a bench. I really loved the coral and shells built into the outdoor steps and wall. All six of us were very comfortable in the house, with two of us bunking downstairs in the garden villa, and the other four of us upstairs. Both up and down stairs have decks and great views. You just won’t get the same laid back island feel in Cruz Bay—Coral Bay Outlook is the place to stay.

Coral Bay Outlook Has It All!

We had the pleasure of staying at Coral Bay Outlook in July 2009 and it was amazing! The house couldn't have been more perfect. It was clean, attractively decorated, well-stocked and beautiful. We enjoyed the constant breeze throughout the house, the stunning view from the front porch and the convenience of the location. The house was privately situated, yet allowed for easy access to local restaurants (several with live music), shopping and beaches. It was a great relaxing week and we plan to be back soon!

Garden Apartment Perfect for a Couple

We stayed in the garden level apartment the first week of May, and could not have been happier with our choice. The owner was very accessible by phone or Email, answered all our questions, and went out of her way to make our trip a great success. The lower level was only a few steps up from the driveway (hard to find someplace without major stairs on this hilly island) and the apartment was well equipped and comfortable with a great view of the ocean (bay), and is probably the best bargain on the island! We loved staying in Coral Bay and frequented the shops, grocery and deli right at the bottom of our lane. We were close to the north and south beaches for snorkeling (LOVED Waterlemon Cay), east end exploring, and were only a 25 minute drive to Cruz Bay if so desired (we preferred dining on OUR end - Skinny Legs, Island Blues, and Shipwreck Landing). We snorkeled almost every day, and saw turtles, starfish, stingray, crabs, squid, tons of colorful fish and beautiful coral. We came home with hundreds of photos along with great stories of donkeys, goats, car ferries, thunderstorms, tropical drinks, harrowing roads and breathtaking vistas. Great vacation - great vacation rental!
