Harden Casa is a well cared for home located in Spa Buena Vista, five miles south of los Barriles on the Sea of Cortez. Approximately 10 years old, it features all the American amenities of home with the flares of Mexican styling. The beautiful Palapa roof, along with the bright Mexican colors remind you your on vacation.
The three bedroom, two bath 2100 + sq. ft home also includes a large loft to accommodate a few extra sleepers. The large 1000+ sq. ft. tile deck over looks the breathtaking sun rises and the sport fishing boats leaving for their day trips. Dish cable TV in the living room area, (two) DVDs and (two) TV's, and Broadband internet(you need to bring your own computer) keep you in touch with daily news. There is a private patio overlooking the garden area to enjoy some quiet time when the winds pick up on the beach side. The new air conditioning system just installed keeps the temperature comfortable all year round.
The climate is generally tropical but with low humidity. Cooling ocean breezes make the sunny days and starry nights comfortable. Average winter temperature is 70-80F, summer 80-100F. The sea and sky are usually clear, blue and beautiful.
The Spa Buena Vista hotel located 100 yards away gives extra amenities to the use of the home which include use of the pool, bar and restaurant. If sport fishing is what you are looking for also, they can accommodate that.
Casa Harden is only 5-10 minutes away from Los Barriles where the finest restaurants, Health Spa, fitness gym, shopping for gifts or groceries, English speaking church, ATV rentals or anything else you would need on your trip can be found.
Casa Harden is perfectly situated to enjoy the best of what Baja has to offer. The beauty of the area, friendliness of the country and great food. It is also close enough to enjoy a day trip to Cabo or San Jose del Cabo to enjoy golf, tourist activities, sight seeing, or swimming with the dolphins.
If you have fallen in love with Spa Buena Vista as much as we have you may also want to visit the local realtor to find out how you too can obtain your own piece of paradise! Enjoy your time... This is truly a special area not to missed but shared and passed on!

We live in Aromas CA, a small country town between San Jose and Monterey CA. A beautiful spot. We own our own HVAC business and pretty much work 24/7 whether we are in the States or in MX. It's pretty awesome to be working on my computer overlooking the Sea of Cortez!
Barbara Weidman-Harden purchased this house in 2004
Charlie has vacationed, built and owned a house back in the 80's. He had always wanted to come back to this 'piece of paradise'. In 2004, this opportunity arose and we snatched it up! As soon as I walked towards the front doors of the house and could see right through to the Sea of Cortez I knew we had something special.........We've never regretting it! It is an amazing quaint area, friendly people and neighbors with stunning views.
Being located on the beach is so special! Also, we are located 100 yds. away from Spa Buena Vista Hotel and the use of the pool, bar, restaurant as well as fishing boats and kayaks.
Swimming, snokeling, atv's, wind surfing and long walks on a great sandy beach is vacationing for me. During your stay you may also see nesting sea turtles, migrating whales or a friendly donkey strolling on the beach in the late afternoon. It is an amazing site!
We want to say what a lovely 10-days we had here at Casa Harden. you provided more than we even thought we needed. We were thrilled to have use of the life jackets and all the ocean and pool toys.
Your place was very comfortable and has such a peaceful, inviting feeling.
I look forward to returning here again!
Casa Harden is just like you see in the pictures. A beautiful and comfortable home. We loved being on the beach and spent most of our time on the gorgeous deck. The spa was nice but charges $10per person per day and the restaurant was pricey. Nearby Buzzards Cantina had excellent food at very reasonable prices. Just down the beach at Rancho Buena Vista is a great place to have cold cerveza or there yummy banana daqauri. Lots of beach toys, although only one usable kayak. The neighbors on both side were very friendly and Bob and Linda gave us a lot of good tips, as well as Jim and Marie. We stayed a month and felt we could have stayed a little longer. Josephina and Giovanni were a godsend and helped us in so many ways to make our stay enjoyable.
My husband and I and our son, wife and their 2 teenage daughters spent almost three weeks over Christmas at Casa Harden. The house is great - lots of room for all of us and the beachfront location is perfect. Comfy beds, too (something you don't always find in Mexico!) and we found the water was great right out of the tap - there are spa water springs all through this area - fantastic! The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed meals at home but soon found some great restaurants in Los Barriles - Campestre's and Tio Pablo's were favorites! My husband and I have visited Mexico 15 times since 1978 and this lovely little town was by far was the nicest (and cleanest!) we've seen. The service and food experience in town was outstanding - make sure you try shrimp cocktail at Tio Pablos and Los Barriles shrimp at Campestre's and the great breakfasts at El Viento, all at very reasonable prices. The portions were large and we found ourselves sharing most of the time. We toured the area with Alfredo in his comfortable van, who was a wealth of information and who also very patiently helped us with our Spanglish! Santiago was a favorite of mine - the most perfect little Mexican village. The trip across the Sierra Madres on the way to Todos Santos was really beautiful - amazingly green views with mango, orange, lemon and avocado groves. We did experience a lot of windy weather, but really enjoyed ocean swimming when it was calm enough. All in all a wonderful holiday and we hope to return soon!
This was our fourth stay in this amazing home and, once again, it was wonderful. We traveled with our two children, ages 7 and 10. Grandma came along as well, but rented a casita down the road, far enough away that she had privacy but close enough that the kids could walk back and forth on their own. Josefina managed both properties so coordination was really easy.
This house truly has everything and the location cannot be beat. Walking towards the front door and seeing the ocean waiting for you on the other side of the house is unbelievable. The house is clean and really comfortable. It is so great to have wifi access and the kids love the satellite tv I love the fact that the kitchen is well stocked, making it easy to cook when we want. There are also plenty of great restaurants in driving distance for when we don't! The jeep and quads make travel to town so easy (and so fun if you're going via the beach!). Having a washer and dryer on hand is also such a luxury, we're able to come home with clean clothes instead of a bunch of laundry!
The kayaks are super fun and it's so easy just to drag them across the beach to the water. We brought down a stand up paddleboard and had a great time with that as well. The outdoor shower is perfect for cleaning the salt and sand off of yourself and any of your gear.
With the kids, the hotel pool next door cannot be beat, it's such a great place to spend the day, order lunch, find friends, have a drink, you name it. My husband loves to fish and does so frequently out of the Palmas De Cortez hotel. We have his catch frozen or sometimes smoked at the local smokehouse and come home with enough fresh fish to last us through a long winter.
Barb is so wonderful and easy to work with, the rental coordination could not be easier. We love this house and it is truly starting to feel like a second home to us. We are absolutely going back, in fact I booked our trip for next year before we even "checked out" this year! Rent this house, you will not be disappointed!
Stayed for 9 days and enjoyed the "real" Baja while having all the comforts of home. Literally steps down onto the sand, and only feet away from the water. The snorkeling was awesome. The house is adorable. The homeowner is wonderful. She is so responsive and understanding. What a sweetheart! We will be back.
House is well maintained and located right on the beach. The Sea of Cortez at this location is very clear, and offers good snorkeling. White sand beaches in this area extend for miles and are for the most part
deserted. If you like lovely and quiet beaches, blue skies and ocean breezes, this is the place.
This was a family get-together for us. We stayed over the Christmas & New Year and had a wonderful time. The house and neighborhood were everything they were advertised to be. Everything was clean and well supplied and sleeping accomodation was very comfortable. Our ages ranged from 13 years up to 69 years and it met all our varied needs. It was quiet, which is what we had hoped for, but for a little excitment you can take an ATV ride up the beach to Los Barriles for some outstanding windsurfing and kiteboarding. We had a fabulous time and enjoyed every minute.
For the best food I'd recommend El Viejo in Los Barriles or Calafia in Buena Vista. The fish, scallop and shrimp tacos are to die for.
We drove to Santiago for the walk to the waterfall. Also went deep sea fishing for the first time for all of us. We went with "Awesome Sportfishing" and they were very accomodating. We saw turtles, seals, and at one point a whole pod of bottlenosed dolphins joined us and swam along side the boat for quite a distance. We also came across a whole hoard of Manta Rays jumping up out of the water and slapping back down making a terrific racket. My daughter got an enormous Marlin on her line. It was too big for her to handle so she had to switch back and forth with the boat crew. Unfortunately, after over an hour he was right up by the boat and we were all ready to hook the line in when the line broke. It would have been nice to get a photo of her with him, but to make up for it she then managed to catch a smaller Sailfish. It was still a pretty good size and we did get a really quick photo this time before releasing him.
The weather was in the low to mid seventies with a very strong wind much of the time, but it was not a problem as we used the pool and hot tub at the hotel just 3 houses down the beach when the ocean was too rough for safe swimming. We met the wild donkeys wandering by and even the occasional cow just so we wouldn't get bored!
All in all, a great experience and a wonderful time for us all.
ATV Tours and rentals available in town. A must see short hiking trip to waterfalls in a small town about one hour from the house.
