Lake Ontario Experience

Judy VanLeuvan East Haven, CT
Review Submitted: December 19, 2007 Date of Stay: October 2007
My husband and I plan short trips to the Rochester area now that our daughter is studying there and it appears that she will eventually settle there. So, since we live at the beach in Connecticut, I wanted a similar experience, if possible, since I do love being by the water. Well, when we decided to look into the Lake Ontario area we were delighted to find what seemed to be the perfect cottage. Someplace where we could do a bit of entertaining, yet it was still like a vacation. So, we were happy to find the little cottage. The only thing was would it be similar to Long Island Sound? Well, the first night it was calm and somewhat lake-like. But the next night a storm began to brew and we had pounding surf and waves over the wall. It was exciting. In addition, we had lovely summerlike weather for two days and then fall-like temperatures the other day. So, all in all, the cottage was everything we could want, we did a bit of sightseeing, had our daughter and her friends over and still felt like we were on vacation. We loved the coziness of the place and brightness of the decor as well as convenience to the places we were heading to. A good time was had by all.

The apartment was wonderful to stay in. The sunsets and the sunrises were phenominal!! But most of all the neighbours are friendly and the area is tranquil. If you just want to relax or unwind this apartment is ideal!! I enjoyed every bit of this apartment, well worth it!!

We enjoyed our recent stay at this proeprty. The location right on Lake Ontario was very peaceful and gave us some beautiful sunrises. While you can walk down short ladder and swim and there is patio area on the shore there is no actual beach area. We noticed alot of fishing activity not only on Lake Ontario but the other numerous lakes and ponds in the area. There are near by beaches, Rochester is a short drive and Buffalo an hour away. The home is nicely equipped and furnished with top quality applicances and a fully stocked kitchen as far as dishes and pots and pans are concerned. House could use an iron and board. Also, be aware the one bedroom is upstairs and the one bathroom downstairs.
