Woodstock beauty and peace

First, Steve is the best - always available for all my calls and questions before arriving, and lucky for me he was there when I arrived and showed me around.
It is a lovely house in a secluded, beautiful and peaceful area just outside of Woodstock. Coming from the city with all its ambient noise, I couldn't believe how absolutely peaceful and quiet it was - especially in the fall when the windows are all closed. The house was clean, well maintained and all amenities listed were available. The heat is great - with temperature controls in every room. There is a huge TV screen with cable, DVD and VCR and drawers full of tapes to choose from. (Note that since the photos were taken, very good blinds were added to all the bedroom windows for privacy and cozy mornings.) I didn't try the fireplace or the separate sauna, but they look like added fun things.
A must right nearby is the Bear Cafe in Bearsville, but call ahead and make reservations, particularly on the weekend. Plus if you're there on the Halloween weekend you must go to the Sunfrost Farms at night, right on the road between Woodstock and Bearsville, where they display around 250 amazing carved pumpkins, each different, some absolutely works of art, all lit up at night, which the staff worked on carving for days. I have never seen anything like it in my whole life. It's also a great healthfood store and luncheonette with fresh juices during the day. In Woodstock there's a great Italian restaurant, Cucina.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a perfect visit to the Woodstock area. Enjoy!
