My wife and I grew up in Las Vegas, but we love San Diego, where I went to school. Ever since we moved back to Las Vegas, we've visited San Diego as often as we can. As our family grew, we found San Diego to be the perfect place to vacation with our three daughters. They love Seaworld, the Zoo, Legoland and the beach. There is so much to do in San Diego, and it still has that 'small town' feel. We know you will enjoy our vacation house as much as we do.
The Owner purchased this house in 2005
We love the Point Loma area of San Diego. It is close to downtown, the airport, shopping and the beaches. Yet, it is an upscale area, far from the typical summer rentals and crowds. The Liberty Station neighborhood is full of stores, restaurants, art galleries, gyms, parks and everything your family needs for a fun-filled vacation, at your fingertips.
The neighborhood's amenities are incredible. Everything you need is within a few blocks, supermarkets, restaurants, stores, parks, the bay. It is the best place to stay in San Diego.
The house location is fantastic - close to major highways and Trader Joes/Vons 2 blocks away. Very spacious house, good for our group of 12. Fully stocked linen closet and kitchen supplies were helpful. Communication with Luisa was smooth and very easy to work with. Our deposit was returned within 5 days. One of the sofa beds were uncomfortable for our guests.
Our family of 6 stayed here for two weeks. It is a lovely house in close proximity to many places of interest (Sea World, the zoo, etc.) It was also extremely convenient to be a very short walk away from multiple grocery stores and restaurants. It is very close to the airport and you can hear the planes very clearly, but it never interfered with anyone's sleep. There was lots of space for everyone, however the house has a very open concept and it was very easy to hear everyone around the house. Everything we needed was provided in the house, including a BBQ. We stayed here during a particularly cold time in San Diego and needed the heat on every day. The furnace is located right next to the master bedroom, which can be quite noisy. It also tended to heat up the master bedroom more than any other room in the house, which resulted in downstairs being quite a bit cooler than the rest of the house. Would definitely recommend this location for families with young children.
The house was spacious and full of amenities with great location close to shopping and restaurants. Unfortunately, two weeks later we still have not received our damage deposit refunded even though we left property in same manner as we arrived. Hoping they will resolve this soon as their deposit is much higher than like properties on VRBO ($1000 vs norm of $350)
This home was perfect for our family gathering. We had a family reunion nearby and it was great to be able to have our immediate families be together and enjoy family time. The house is very spacious and beautiful. Working with Luisa was a pleasure, she was a great help to us. Checking in and out was very easy. The house was super clean and in great condition. Location is nearby many shops and restaurants walking distance. We're looking forward to another SD trip to book this house again!! Thank you Eric and family for renting us your home!!
This review comes very late, as we rented back in March!
The owner and his assistant were great and very helpful with any questions we had. The home is very large... we had 6 adults, 2 teenagers, 1 pre-teen, 2 toddlers and an infant. We all fit comfortably and the kids enjoyed running around.
The home is surprisingly in a very quiet neighbourhood, I didn't see one neighbour the entire stay!
There is a pool table, but it is situated in an area where it is difficult to play a serious game, but the kids enjoyed it and didn't know the difference.
We were a couple of blocks from Trader Joe's which was extremely convenient. We were pretty central and didn't have to drive far to get anywhere we wanted to go.
The only issue was that the front patio door didn't lock, but a quick phone call to Eric and his assistant and they had it fixed by the time we returned from dinner that evening!
I recommend this rental and will definitely rent from Eric again!
We rented this house for a five senior citizen sibling reunion in February of 2014. It turned out to be an ideal venue for us. It was close to the airport (we all came from different states), central to the major San Diego attractions, near restaurants + grocery stores, and in a very walkable neighborhood. I would rent it again for a similar event.
The house had plenty of places for us to sleep, a pool table for entertainment at slow times, was fully stocked with household items to support our stay, and a secure place to park our car. For us and in our physical condition, we found it to be a perfect venue.
There are a few features that should be noted for potential renters. There are no bedrooms on the first floor so residents must be able to climb stairs. During our stay, none of us managed to access the internet although the place is outfitted for this service.
Although our rental payment was made months in advance, we were given no information about how to access the house until the last week. Needless to say, this caused a bit of angst because of the fear that perhaps we had been victims of a scam.
In spite of these shortcomings, it is a very good place to host a sibling reunion!
