Rustic lake house perfect for the following activities: 1. Skiing -30 minutes from Jiminy Peak, Butternut and Bousquet ski areas - cross country on our 35 acres. 2. Foliage - beautiful lakeside location surrounded by private woods - less than an hour from fabulous leaf peaping in NH & VT. 3. Hiking -20 minutes from MA State Parks - hike the Appalachian Trail or the mountain where Melville and Emerson so famously picnicked. 4. History Buffs & Culture Vultures - 30 minutes from Williamstown & Tanglewood, Mass MoCA, the Mount, home of Edith Wharton - 20 minutes from Lenox - ten minutes from Chatham - less than an hour from Battlefields of Saratoga - 40 minutes from home of Martin Van Buren.

Easy access to both Taconic & Thruway - equidistant from NYC & Boston' less than 3 hours. TV is circa 1950 with VHS player. House is not for those enamored of electronic gadgets - we do have wi fi - - no CD player - just a small radio & a small TV that is only used to play VCRs.

Enjoy Live Music : The Hudson Opera House, one of the region's cultural jewels! The Hudson Opera House offers a year-round schedule of arts and cultural programming, community events, classes, exhibitions, and more. All in an historic building that is being restored to its 19th century glory.

I spent New Year's weekend here and couldn't say more positive things about the place! The home was beautiful, clean and cozy. I also appreciated that it was exactly as advertised!
