Bruce and Lisa Westall have worked in the lodging/hospitality business for over 25 years.
They own the Porch House Bed & Breakfast in Granville, Ohio, a small college town
near Columbus. For several years they vacationed in Florida and eventually decided to try their hands at owning a vacation rental property. They were sure they wanted to own a house large enough for a family to enjoy, and they wanted to provide a private pool as well. It was important to them, too, that the property be within a short walk to the beach. All they needed was a Florida community that appealed to them. After an extensive search, they happened upon
Indian Rocks Beach, and said to each other, “This reminds me of our village in Ohio!”
That was nearly ten years ago. Since then they’ve added a second house to their rental
inventory with the same family-friendly features.
Because of their extensive lodging experiences in both Ohio and Florida, Bruce and Lisa have
become experts about the characteristics of a great family vacation. They strive to offer a
clean, welcoming home in a quiet neighborhood that is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, parks, and of course, the beach. They are always available to handle the little glitches that occur in any house, because they want to make sure guests enjoy a problem-free
Bruce or Lisa Westall purchased this house in 2006
Indian Rocks Beach is a great destination for a family, retired couple, or vacationer to enjoy
a pleasant stay. The beach is spectacular, and you will find entrances to it every two blocks
along Gulf Boulevard. Your house is only a block from this main thoroughfare, and along it
you will find great restaurants and shops. Your neighborhood is quiet and residential in nature; everyone waves and speaks in passing, and anyone you meet will offer tips about what to see or where to eat.
Clearwater Beach is just a short drive north on Gulf Blvd. Lots of vacation glitz here: souvenir shops, restaurants, and Pier 60, a beach - centered venue for swimming, entertainment, and
kid-friendly attractions. Or you can head south to St. Johns Pass, a vacationer’s mecca on the inland waterway. More shops, good eats, and fun.
Don’t want to drive? Take the trolley; there’s a stop on Gulf at the end of your street.
Aside from a major supermarket (5 minutes across the bridge) you need not leave the
town at all. Enjoy the beach, relax by the pool, delight in a well-deserved getaway.
You will not be disappointed when you select Indian Rocks Beach as your destination. That is why our guests return year after year.
As soon as you enter the home, you will smile and think to yourself, “Yes, this is Florida.”
Bruce and Lisa have taken great care to decorate the interior with bright, beachy colors and furnishings. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking supplies and utensils. The pool area and deck provide ample seating for leisurely hours in the sun.
If you’re not accustomed to staying in a vacation rental home, you will be
surprised at how spacious and accommodating this house is. There is ample room -- inside and out -- for your family or group to be together or stay apart.
The owners are committed to providing both a clean, welcoming home and also one where
everything works. If something -- an appliance, for example -- is missing or broken, they will try to take care of it within twenty-four hours.
Best of all the home is located within easy walking distance of the beach, shops, restaurants, and parks. There are two city parks that cater to children and a nature preserve with an interesting self-guided boardwalk tour. And they’re all nearby.
Bruce and Lisa hope this becomes your home away from home.
