About David Comerford

Hi, I have owned a vacation home for the past 28 years. I enjoy having my son and our friends share our lovely home with us. We are outdoor enthusiasts. We love to ski, raft, hike, swim etc.. Friends love to join us at the sandy river ski house for fun, relaxation, sitting around the fire and in the kitchen making yummy meals.

David Comerford purchased this house in 2006

Why David Comerford chose Mt Hood

It is next to the river (200') with easy access to all the fun stuff to do on mount hood. Just a short 50 minute ride from Portland and we can be sitting on the porch sipping tea and listening to the sounds of the river through the large fir trees.

Great home away from home!

  • 4 of 5

What a spacious and comfy home to stay and enjoy between nature hikes and snow skiing! We enjoyed the living space as a family with board games and movies available to enjoy. The kitchen is great and good sleeping space. We want to come back!

Great Family Ski House Close To Hood Meadows

  • 5 of 5

Awesome House! My wife and I and a few friends took a ski trip out to Hood Meadows and stayed here. The house is only 25 minutes from meadows. At the end of the first day we were soaked and so grateful to not have to drive all the way back to Portland.

The house is way bigger than the pictures show. Three big bedrooms, breakfast nook, dining room and two living rooms with so many couches. One of the couches is a futon that turns into a fourth bed. The kitchen is huge and well stocked. Take my advice. Hit the slopes then come back to the house, make some dinner and grab some brews while you rest up to head back out for more snow the next day!

Beautiful area in forest, yet so close to Portland

  • 5 of 5

Very nice place in Mt. Hood National Forest in Brighton, Or. in quiet and quaint area. House very clean, well supplied kitchen. Spacious, nicer than photos. Beds very comfortable. Close to grocery store, restaurants. Great area for hiking or just sight seeing by car. Owner always available and easy to work with. Also helpful with information about the area. Three of us older lady friends get together once a year. The house was one story so it was very convenient for us. We had a nice and relaxing time in a beautiful area of Oregon. A great away.

Clean and comfortable for our family

  • 4 of 5

We had some family members who were there for only one night and had to fly out and it wasn't so far from the airport (50 minutes) but we felt like we were away from the city--we could hear the river and enjoyed walking along the river trail. We also enjoyed the close proximity to the Wildwood Recreation Area and we loved picking blueberries down the highway.

Wonderful time! Great house!

  • 5 of 5

This rental is wonderful. Lots of space for an entire family. Very clean. Can hear the Sandy River from the front door. House has everything you need. Large supply of firewood. Bonus is that you can bring your dog. Close to ski resorts, grocery store and great restaurant called Rendezvous! The home owner, David, offers some great tips on how to enjoy the area better. We followed all of his tips from hikes to places to eat and had a great time. Don't miss the buffet at the lodge at Timberline!

Book. This. House

  • 5 of 5

Book. This. House! This is the second time I've rented this house and it's a great deal. First off, the owner gets back to you right away about availability and booking. If needed he can provide some tips on the area and where to go adventuring.

The house itself is extremely clean and obviously well taken care of. Both times I didn't notice a single thing out of place. There are 3 bedrooms and a spacious open living room where you can lay by the fire and read. The kitchen is big, stocked with plenty of pots, pans, and other cooking essentials. Cozy is the best word to describe the place, but that doesn't do it justice. It's warm, quiet, great access to Mt Hood skiing, and you can hear the Sandy River flow by. There are books, board games, and movies for entertainment. I give this house my highest recommendations.
