Duck Vacation Rental house

We had a wonderful time at this property. We had 3 families with 9 kids ranging from 2-9 years old...and the house fit us perfectly. The on-site hot tub and pool were HUGE hits...not to mention the easy walk (and wagon rides) to the private access beach, another oceanfront pool, clubhouse with another INDOOR and outdoor pool, tennis courts, game room and gym. A great little coffee shop sits at the entrance to the community...for all you coffee snobs! Karen (the owner) was accessible and helpful with any questions you have about Duck, OBX or the house. I have already recommended the house to friends and family. If we weren's spending next summer in Nantucket, we'd be back at this house next summer. Thanks again Karen for making our vacation so great!

We returned to this house after staying here in 2003! The common/open living area was great. You could walk to town easily. The hot tub and mid-level swing were excellent and it was an easy walk to the beach. The children's bedroom was terrific for them and the master suites offered privacy as well as porch access.

The amenities at Schooner Ridge are fantastic. We have stayed in other complexes, and Schooner Ridge cannot be beat. We especially like the oceanfront pool and showers, as well as the other community pool, playground, indoor pool and gym.

Duck is an excellent destination since you can drive north to Corolla and the 4X4 beaches or you could drive south to Nags Head, Kitty Hawk and Manteo.

We were a little disappointed with the cleanliness of accessories, such as the high chair. The kitchen, while containing the basics, is not as well stocked as we would have liked, since we are regular cooks. Also, for safety, it would be best to have a railing in the private pool, as the children and older adults slipped several times getting in.

The owner was prompt in getting back to us via email during our stay. We would recommend this house to others.

Thank you sharing your beautiful home. It is not only immaculate but tastefully decorated with a personal and comfortable flair. Everything we needed was there, including perfect weather. If it weren't for the clean beach and beautiful sky that looked so close you could touch it, as well as the most unique shopping village within walking distance, it would be hard to leave the house. The decks were a great way to see the moonlit sky and I had the best sleep ever in the comfortable queen size bed. The large kitchen table allowed us all to eat together and enjoy some old fashioned board games. The pool is in a beautifully landscaped yard that included a cute sandbox for the kids. The living room had plenty of room for all to enjoy watching a good movie on the plasma at the end of an awesome day. And who can forget our big yellow captain, our beacon in the night. This was a truly fabulous week in your beautiful home and won't be soon forgotten. I look forward to staying here again.
