We found this condo to be comfortable but not luxurious as was advertised. The ad said the furniture was new but new to whom? It seemed to be good yard sale finds which was fine but some were dirty and stained. We could tell the condo had been updated by viewing through the windows of our neighbors which did add to our comfort. It was fairly quiet but there is a firestation down the street and there were at least three emergencies in a 24 hour period each day. We couldn't hear the TV in living room when we were in the master bedroom so we slept well. By the way there is a TV in the master bedroom. If you choose to go in the summer pay the extra fee for the air conditioners. In the morning the sun shines through those great windows and makes the room hot. We had to use a large sheet and hang it between the curtains as they did not cover the entire bank of windows. It was also nice to have the washer and dryer.
The property was fairly clean though I felt the need to clean out the refridgerator and the kitchen sink. The silverware also needed some attention.
I found the owner and his people easy to work with. He always answered my questions via email.
The condo is indeed a few blocks from the beach which we did take advantage of. There are two beach chairs you can use but we found that renting an unbrella and two lounge chairs at the beach to be better. You can do this by the hour ($10) or by the day ($50). Bring or buy your own beach towels.
The add did say you wouldn't need a car and really you don't but you will have to take a taxi to get groceries. There is a very nice Safeway a few minutes away. Sorry I can't tell you the name of the street but it is the street at the top of the canal. You will go toward the golf course on this street.
Some of the activities we did were jetsking with Aloha jetski. It was OK but they had a marked course in the shape of a triangle and you had to stay on that course. We parasailed with Hawaii Parasail and it was great! We also took a 120 miles grand tour of the island for about $26 and it also was great.
We ate at California Pizza Kitchen, Chili etc and they were fine. We had a horrible meal that was very expensive at Atlantas. Also we had a bad meal at Planet Holliwood. We loved PF Changs. If you want local hole in the walls go on the grand island tour and the tour guide can tell you.
